Born and raised in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, ChadKid is inspired by many of the amazing djs and raves in the greater midwest scene. Over the past four years they have been alongside fellow residents Sis Girl & Calin to build their own party, MESH. MESH focuses on showcasing queer, trans, and non-binary djs from across North America. Together they work hard to make sure their party is inclusive and safe for all to rave in. Chad’s djing is inspired by all aspects of rave culture and they always strive to capture some of that raw energy in their sets.

In this mix they explore further into more unconventional deep house and dub influenced sounds. Pulling mostly from late 90’s early 00’s releases, this mix has a timeless grove that pulls you in for an hour of both uplifting and hypnotic energy.

Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio Chris’ DJ career started at the young age of 17 in a hotel bar. Being underage and how that happened is a long but fascinating story but we’ll fast forward to 2018 when he moved to Columbus, Ohio to start a new chapter in his life.
CRUIZE began shortly before his move and that party later evolved into what we know today as FEVER.
FEVER is a monthly (4th Saturday) Queer focused, all-inclusive event at AWOL Bar where Disco, House and Techno reign supreme. Its old – its new and everything in between. When I asked Chris why this night is so important to him he simply replied “I basically wanted to create a safe space for my friends to dance to the music they love…a place for them to just be themselves…its crucial to keep music from yesterday alive especially in a time when 1000 dance songs are released every week”.
This year Chris added a new resident DJ, Melanie Pagani to the roster who we heard on the first installment of the FEVER Mix Series.
Here is Chris’ take on the night he created. It’s a blend of all the genres and sounds he loves going way, way back…a third of the way into the mix he pulls out a couple Tribal America tracks – a label that had a significant influence on him in the mid 90’s.

Sonic Fruits w/ El Shazly - October 2022

El pasado 25 de noviembre tuve la ocasión de compartir la cabina de La Fábrica de Hielo, junto con el Rusticiero. Una sesión bastante difícil de calificar porque hay de todo, pero siempre dentro de mis gustos personales, y eso el Justiciero ya sabe por donde tirar. Jazz-Funk, House, Disco, Electro, Deep-House, Funky, RnB, un poco de hiphop creo que también. 3 horas muy bien variadas y repartidas. Muy a gusto me sentí (que es lo más importante al fin y al cabo, y creo que el resto de la gente lo percibió). Fallos hay, eso desde luego. Desde saltadas de agujas y descuadres en los bombos que son fáciles de remediar. Pero, en mi humilde opinión, esa es la gracia, que un Dj esté siempre "discutiendo" con los vinilos. Al fin y al cabo, como diría Allen Iverson "It´s all bout practice......practice practice practice". 

No obstante, siempre aprendiendo y escuchando cosas nuevas que no controlas, y pidiendo una foto a la carátula de ese vinilo que te lo ponen y que te entra como cuchillo que corta mantequilla.

De nuevo, gracias Rusty por haberme invitado a compartir cabina en La Fábrica de Hielo. 

PD: Creo que la foto describe con bastante claridad lo a gusto que me encontraba. No obstante, hay otra parte que está grabada, pero en otra ocasión....

Distant Dreams (Part 3) is the new show from Kat Richmond, founder of Electronic 17 and promoter / producer of Timothy J Fairplay’s Dungeon Module parties and label. Having established herself as a DJ / live artist in the capital for over ten years, Kat has relocated herself and her family back to her home city of Hull where she is working on launching her new project, Distant Dreams (Part 3) which, alongside the show, will evolve into a regular night of underground electronic music past and present. Musically, the show will showcase new psychedelic minimal music from dub to acid to techno with influences of the avant garde. Expect to fall into a trance……

Every now and then i have a pang for Nostalgia..  Some music thats poorly pressed, volumes all over the place, tracks that go out of time, records that start to fade out a centimetre from the end, dodgy samples and questionable lyrics and of course a healthy dose of 303.  Basically..back to 87/88

The only way to scratch the itch is to play some records, loud.  Fortunately i hit the record button and this is the result.  I try to avoid the obvious tracks from the era which we all know and love but hear them on a gazillion 'Back to 88' mixes…

Anyway..  here the mix  hope you like it….
