"Centli" is the Nahuatl word for "corn." The name came because all the vocal samples in the track come from the recording of a farmer explaining, in Nahuatl, how he harvests corn. It was one of the first elements I included in the track, since I noticed many artists doing similar music did that kind of vocal processing, and I loved the vibe. The track then evolved deeply, but the name "Centli" remained. 

Corn had a huge role in allowing many Mesoamerican civilizations to flourish, and tacos would definitely not exist without it. In the end, this track takes us back to basics; to the wild, raw, and instinctual realty that still lingers when we eat, dance, and love. "Centli" is, once again, the starting point for great things to come. Thanks for listening!

You knew her as bittymacbeth the musician who could slap bass and sing at the same time. Maybe you knew her as bittymacbeth the live-loop artist, or bittymacbeth the jazz-soul diva. 

Now it’s time to get up close and personal with Bitty. Yes, she’s a singer-songwriter-producer and multi-instrumentalist, but she’s also a daughter, sister, friend. She’s going though the same things you do - only thing is, her most honest, inner thoughts about these experiences are on Spotify and Apple Music. They are her songs, as well as yours.

The name “Bitty” is a family nickname coined by her mom since she was, well, an itty bitty baby. She’s still “not your typical pop star: Talented, honest and fiercely independent” (Teenage Magazine) – but now embracing her identity as solo R&B-pop artist who listens, understands and voices simple truths.
