This is a remix of 'Gates Of Hell' from my first album, 'Halloween'. I was not satisfied with the original, as I believed it lacked aggression. I believe this remix has brought aggression, alongside several sounds I've accidentally discovered and came to love. This is my personal favorite track of the album.

'Forbidden Lessons' showcases many random chords on the track. If you have ears that are well trained, you'll notice how many of them have diminished intervals in them. Diminished intervals are usually the least popular, and for good reason: it doesn't sound great, and it can be hard to make it sound great. Other intervals such as minors, majors, octaves and perfects have its place and usually catches the attention of musicians easier. However, I'm one of the few people that love diminished sounds, but understands the challenge it has. Given how easy it is nowadays to change the sound of your electric guitar, I can work around it easier than people could decades ago, and this track was my attempt at that. In the past, choirs have banned diminished sounds, hence why it's forbidden.

Forbidden Lessons

The title comes from the sound that was on my amplifier, called "60s Fuzz". The 60s, by the decades, was 60 years ago or 6 decades ago, and that was the decade when distortion became mainstream or a staple part of rock music. When I was messing around with all of the sounds, the beat (the guitar) sounded futuristic and it became a recurring thing during my jams. And given the distortion sound existed 60 years ago, it gave me the title of being in the future for 60 years because sounds like that could've existed back then. The never-ending solo in this was inspired off of blues music. I was learning how Jimi Hendrix played, while also trying to come up with stuff myself. It was a struggle to fill in parts, but I got the hang of it.

We've Been In The Future For 60 Years

This is an accidental track after a month of playing an out-of-tuned guitar, which I like to call a 'broken guitar' yet came out with a sinister and atmospheric sound, which got the 'broken hearts' name. This track is not the exact recording from 2022, but rather from audio manipulating to closely resemble what the experience was in 2022.

'1983' got its name because of the new years report. I listened to every live new years report from 1980 to 1989 that happened in NYC, and the 1983 celebration grabbed my attention the most. The main riff sounded and felt like something that could've been made in the 1980s, which was also the decade where heavier distortion was developing. 1983 is a basic heavy metal track.

The track consisted of a sample from the NYC 1983 New Year celebration, drum samples from FL Studio, the electric guitar and bass ukelele.

'Purple Clouds' is the earliest fully completed track I've performed on the guitar. The quiet guitar ambience you hear is something I accidentally came across. I've always imagined it as a blanket of clouds covering the Earth from the Sun, but not thick enough to start a stom. When the distortion comes in, a sea of clouds form and makes the bright side of Earth dark. I remember having a dream that took place at Gramby's where we were under a heavy sea of clouds, and I noticed how thick it was after it passed us by looking out the window. It also has my first ever solo that I've written through memory.

Drum samples from FL Studio were used to enhance the experience of the track. Every other sound on the track was created from the electric guitar with effects.

Purple Clouds

'Pinched To Death' got its name because the primary sound technique that was used was a pinch harmonic. There are two ways to do a pinch harmonic: one is to use your thumb and have it slightly touch the string while its still ringing on your picking hand. The other is to use your fretting hand and just hover over the strings (not touching the fret board), and then sweep pick to get more than one note as performed on the track. The loud distortion was the first method explained, and the relaxing side was the second method explained. It is possible to get pinched to death due to infections, and there are hundreds (maybe thousands) of pinching notes in the track. This was my toughest track because I had to do micro-movements to get different sounds.

'Hesitation' is a track that resembles the struggles I've gone through during the process of making the track. Most of the things written were made back in late-2023, but they were small and incomplete. This track dedicates every piece I've written that were unused in other tracks and blended them together to the best of my ability. This is a track I'm very hesitant about, and why I gave it the title name. 

Drum samples from FL Studio were used in the first minute to enhance the experience of the track. Every other sound on the track was created from the electric guitar and bass ukelele with effects.

'Levitating In My Sleep' is another track that was inspired by Popol Vuh's Dream Part 4, which also inspired 'Psychiatric' from my first album 'Halloween'. Everytime I listen to it, I always think of something with my eyes closed, as if I'm dreaming. With the track I made, it wasn't a dystopian metropolis city ran by robots that Dream Part 4 does, rather it felt like I was levitating to space, with similar rules applying from Dream Part 4 when the track plays. I consider this track cosmic music, which played a key role in the early roots of space rock and ambience music with guitars.
