Along the way you'll discover the breathtaking environments, rich atmosphere and artful narrative as you brave into the beating heart of these stone walls.

Well, that sounds nice and all, but Dream Machine isn't out yet, so enjoy some of the music for that part of the game! I wrote most of these tracks in Phrygian, one of my favorite modes. I believe in a way, all of these songs manage to encompass the video gamey, cavey feel, but maybe I'm a bit biased. Regardless, I hope you folks like what I've laid out here for your listening pleasure.

Cavewave (Insomniac Caverns OST)

This is all of the songs for my fake FNF mod Shifter Showdown, besides the epilogue song which will be released on YouTube first (eventually). The mod has BF face off against a shapeshifting demon who's been hired to kill and effectively replace him. "Shifter" is a character of my own making, and he uses his abilities to mimic Boyfriend's voice for the sake of these songs. Love space. Always have. Trying to capture space in different interpretations is something I attempt often. I have a more somber piece about drifting in space that I may post soon. This one is far more energetic.

Boss battle music. That was my goal. I feel I did pretty well though! The shadow thing depicted is Emnity, a spider-like shadow I created. I wanted some accompanying boss music for him, so I made 2 versions: this one and an "arcade version" where I replaced the instruments with NES noises and Sega Genesis soundchip noises.

Instrumental Desc: Wanted to make a song about a character drifting in space, then dying. Guy's at peace with himself, he did everything he could to save his friends, even if in the end he failed. Not gonna lie, this song actually made me cry. If that makes me a wuss then whatever :P

Vocals Desc: First our protagonist is singing with a lost friend, before she fades away; she was just an illusion. Next is another friend fading in, but much weaker than the first woman. Our hero knows what's going on by now, that his mind is playing tricks on him, but he plays along anyways. What else is there for him to do? Then, after a lengthy solo, the one who blasted him out the airlock comes in for a last laugh.

A track I made in the Blues scale of all things! This song was made as an experiment mostly, with trying abnormal scales, and I think I'd call this experiment a success! Definitely using this for a video game.

Biohazard

The rocky ceiling drips... something... onto the ground, collecting in prismatic puddles. You think you recognize the scent? It has a slight funk to it. The sound of your footsteps bounces around the cave walls as you venture further. The air feels thick, cold, wet. You feel watched.

The Mind's Bowels

This was actually the first cave song I made. It sat as a barely started project for months, until finally I sat myself down and actually expanded on it. The final result blew me away; the phrygian mode perfectly encapsulated the slightly eerie feeling of the environment, and the chiming, OOOOH THE CHIMING

If you couldn't tell I'm a big fan of this track. This song gave me the inspiration for more with the cave vibe, which is why a lot of the other tracks in this EP share at least one instrument with this one.

Tunnels Of Slumber

Why not make spelunking a little more funky? I'm absolutely in love with this track.

Sure, the Insomniac Caves are filled with freaky darkness and the occasional cave critter, but also HOLY SHIT COOL GLOWING CAVE. The saxophone(s) in this song was(were) a bold move for me, and it so paid off. Imagine exploring an underground tomb in a video game and THIS SHIT PLAYS? I'd be jamming.

Spefunking

Your cavern opens up to a massive area, with a small body of water in the center. "Sunlight" streams in from above, casting rays onto a single tree in the center. It looks like it could be safe.

Stone Oasis

I love Pokemon Black and White, and Chargestone Cave has always been such a cool environment for me. The glowing blue crystals, some of them floating as if by some magnetic force, electricity arcing between rocks. Just something about it stuck with me as a kid, and this song tries to mimic something similar. I didn't base it off of the Chargestone Cave music at all, as is probably obvious. I wanted something that gave off an "electrified" feel.

Electric Precipice

I love being able to nail a vibe when I make a track. Cave vibe, high altitude vibe, "I'm in a world beyond my comprehension" vibe...

I'm going to try to do art for every upload/EP/Album from now on, to get myself into doing art again. If you didn't know, the amazing art here was done by yours truly.

Stalagmite

I love Pizza Tower, especially the OST. Thousand March is one of my favorite tracks, and I wanted to try to recreate it with the same style as Dream Machine. I've never tackled music like this, and I'm definitely not the best at remixing, but I think this one came out pretty great.

This is the music for the first boss fight of Dream Machine. Janus guards your key to unlocking access to new realms, and he's not letting you get through without a fight.

I experimented in the "Iwato scale" for this, I think it came out pretty good! I don't do much work in pentatonic scales so this was an interesting challenge for me.

Secret Lab

Haven't uploaded in a long while! I've been super busy with real life stuff (Nobody cares or is reading this), but I'm starting to get back into music production/posting. This song is the first song in an FNF mod that will likely never exist, where BF faces off against a shapeshifting demon who's been hired to kill and effectively replace him. "Shifter" is a character of my own making, and he uses his abilities to mimic Boyfriend's voice for the sake of these songs. I've gone heavy on the pitch shifting for his voice to make it sound less natural, showcasing the idea of him slightly distorting himself either for the sake of intimidation or out of straining himself. The voice lines are all done by yours truly! I tried my best to convey a transformation throughout this song. This is where Shifter confronts BF for the first time, looking nearly identical to the little fella save for ghastly pale skin. When the song distorts and Shifter laughs, I imagine him stepping into the darkness as his silhouette twists and deforms, and he steps back into the light with melty, dead-looking, gray skin, dark blue hair and a manic grin that doesn't quite sit on his face correctly. The singing voice deepens for the rest of the song, and throughout the rest of the "mod," to reflect this.

FNF: Shifter Showdown - "Hello"

Haven't uploaded in a long while! I've been super busy with real life stuff (Nobody cares or is reading this), but I'm starting to get back into music production/posting. This song is the first song in an FNF mod that will likely never exist, where BF faces off against a shapeshifting demon who's been hired to kill and effectively replace him. "Shifter" is a character of my own making, and he uses his abilities to mimic Boyfriend's voice for the sake of these songs. I've gone heavy on the pitch shifting for his voice to make it sound less natural, showcasing the idea of him slightly distorting himself either for the sake of intimidation or out of straining himself. I don't use much piano in my tracks but I really enjoyed experimenting with it! I'm no classically trained ivory tickler, but I think it definitely adds to the atmosphere.

Sleep Tight, in my head, takes place the night of/after "Hello," with Boyfriend and Pico in bed (asleep? Who knows lmao), when Pico perks up at hearing a rustle outside. Turning to the window, he sees someone peering in. A second story window. Shifter, standing outside, has elongated his body to reach the window and peer in to watch the pair. The view of this part I imagine coming from inside, facing the wall with the window that Shifter is looking through. His yellow eyes glow faintly and his teeth are a blinding white, with the rest of his face barely visible. After the song ends, I imagine a bunch of commotion as Pico and BF are chased through the house and escape by getting into a vehicle and driving away.

FNF: Shifter Showdown - "Sleep Tight" (2025)

Pico keeps dialing 911 but no calls are going through. I had a LOT of fun with this one! It's always a blast to incorporate some sound design into songs, and coupling with the dialogue exchanges I really feel like this track feels the most alive out of the other mod songs.

This song is the third song in an FNF mod that will likely never exist, where BF faces off against a shapeshifting demon who's been hired to kill and effectively replace him. "Shifter" is a character of my own making, and he uses his abilities to mimic Boyfriend's voice for the sake of these songs. I've gone heavy on the pitch shifting for his voice to make it sound less natural, showcasing the idea of him slightly distorting himself either for the sake of intimidation or out of straining himself. This song is near and dear to my heart, following the dialogue- and sfx-using "No Signal," this track keeps that more cinematic energy with more banter and an evolving instrumental. After evading the police for a while, Pico nearly crashes his car, swerving out the way of a fire hydrant and flinging both rooftop passengers off. BF and Shifter crash through glass into a building that's been closed for the night (It's around 2AM). Shards of glass protrude from Shifter's melty flesh. He grows in size greatly partly through the song, but BF and Pico (he's ok and here now :D) are hardly fazed. Following announcing the call for "something familiar," Shifter briefly returns to the pale imitation of BF he used at the start of "Hello." Pico, trying repeatedly to shoot the demon, keeps missing as Shifter warps his body, creating holes in himself so the bullets go right through. By the end of the song, I imagine he's straining to keep singing, hence the warped voice.

FNF: Shifter Showdown - "False Mirror" (Instrumental)

Currently working on an LP inspired by the likes of I Miss The Quiet and Big Misser, a short collection of songs about an otherworldly self-aware computer being utilized in a massive secret experiment until it turns on all the staff and researchers after realizing the true agenda of the project. If this sounds like something that you'd be interested in hearing when it comes out, consider a follow! I'll post other synth versions of the songs in the coming months, and eventually the full 4 song LP sometime this year.

"Synth Version" is what I made as a sort of in-between making the instrumental and version with full sung lyrics. I use this lead to guide how I pitch the vocals, since the delivery of the character singing will be heavily processed, including pitch shifting because I cannot sing unless it sounds like a sadistic computer!

Hi there! I'm Cookee, an aspiring VGM composer. I started out as a "writer" (fanfiction) and an "artist" (doodles) and eventually actually became good at writing and art somewhere along the way. I began making music in 2020, and have been improving my craft ever since.

Currently I'm working on learning Blender and Unity so I can make full-fledged video games! That's a long way in the future though.
