"It's a Mediterranean blue spilling from my heart, filling me up. Cool, deep, fathomless - between light and dark." 

This is how poet Gainor Ventresco describes "the perfect blue" in one of their poems. While it's unlikely that Ventresco had any ties with Italian DJ and producer Luigi Tozzi, these words perfectly capture the sensation that Tozzi's music evokes. Connected to the Mediterranean and deeply passionate about the ocean, his "Deep Blue" series transports listeners to a peaceful dreamlike state. The vastness of the universe and our subconscious worlds are perceptible within its depths.
Tozzi's refined take on techno in his live sets and productions has gained him increasing attention over recent years. Not to forget his impeccable storytelling skills as a DJ (highly recommend the Acquario Immersioni Sets Pt. 1 & 2), specifically showing up in longer DJ sets where the light and the dark go hand in hand, as they do so in life. 
Luigi shared with us a Live Podcast featuring some unreleased material - this mix is enveloping and absorbing simultaneously.  It is in such a way, that one could feel getting pulled into a magical vortex.

On our wishlist for our mix and Artist of the Moment series for some time now, we connected with this highly analytical, extremely dedicated, genuine and kind artist from Rome.

We are incredibly happy to share this recording with you courtesy of one of our ultimate favorites, Claudio PRC. This 5h techno marathon was recorded at beautiful Masada in Milano at the Acquario party in April this year. 

This is what Claudio said about the Acquario collective and his relationship with them: “For me, Acquario has always been one of the most awaited and exciting dates of the year. For today’s premiere, we look to the Italians and precisely in the form of Marco Shuttle. He’s been releasing quite a few tracks via his own imprints, and this release marks his first under the MSP banner. One with a dance floor centered focus. 

Bella Di Giorno is a tribal mover that undulates and grows, the drums providing that all important foundation for the melody to weave through. One that is intentionally muted and restrained, adding an air of mystery and introspection to the track. These muted tones provide a delicate counterpoint to the robust tribal drums, creating a balance between the primal and the contemplative.

Bella Di Giorno and the rest of Marco Shuttle’s MSP01 release will be out on January 16th.

After belonging to the Move and Skyzoo collectives in the mid-90s, in 2000 he became part of the team of residents of Le Club and the organization of the Observatori Festival.
In 2010 he starts Black Label, a monthly party at Miniclub, where for 5 years he made known his more House side. After this, it is worth mentioning his residence in Jerusalem Club, Caravaca (Proper Club) and the organization and residence of the Taiga parties in Madrid, where he bet on contemporary techno.

At the moment he is still interested in the most current musical currents of electronic music, from ambient to techno, through electro, halftime and D&B. Always betting on vinyl as a format and deep productions that keep the dub as a common denominator.

Descend into the hidden realms with Fran Campos's masterclass mix, a teaser for his set at Barcelona's Mostra Festival. This undark current plunges you into the bioluminescent depths of underwater caves, where haunting whispers drift through hidden passageways and the ocean floor thrums with a primal pulse. Imagine floating through a nebula on a velvet spaceship, cosmic winds whispering secrets through swirling synths. That's the feeling Orion's "Aida" conjures - a heady trip through their signature deep atmosphere. It's like diving into a glacier lake, sunlight glinting off icy hi-hats as you sink deeper into the hypnotic melody.

This is not your average club banger. It's slow-burning and introspective and unfolds like a David Lynch fever dream. Think shadowy alleyways illuminated by neon signs, the echo of distant bells bouncing off brick walls. Midgar Records, the tastemakers who always keep their finger on the pulse of the future, and Polygonia, the artist crafting music that feels like stepping into tomorrow, have finally collided. The result - the 'Da Nao Tian Gong' EP.

Imagine a childhood Saturday morning cartoon but with its sugary soundtrack remixed by a cyberpunk DJ who stumbled upon ancient Chinese legends. That's the whirlwind you're stepping into with 'Da Nao Tian Gong', Polygonia's latest four-track techno wanderlust.

Lindsey Wang, the mastermind behind the magic, taps into the mythical essence of Sun Wukong, the Monkey King himself. Each track is a sculpture of his legend: 'Jindou Yun' propels you through the sky on his cloud, leaving gravity in the dust. 'Shen Wai Shenfa' casts a spell with tribal rhythms, mimicking his magical hair. Imagine drifting through a moonlit forest dappled with fireflies and the low hum of cicadas. That's the vibe – lulling, dreamy, and alive with subtle magic. Lush atmospheres unfurl like velvet curtains.

Vardae is a project with the ambition of breaking away from the genre barrier, to explore new sounds territory around the love of psychedelic music. Today’s premiere comes in the form of Parisian artist, Solma and their half time thriller, Apoapsis. Tolling like bells in the distance, the wobbling melodies are stretched and elongated to their max as frenetic hi hats and snares dance around, creating that ebb and flow so well known. The track brings an air of seriousness, one for those head down moments of dancing bliss, surrounded by smoke and like-minded ravers.

Apoapsis is joined by three other tracks to round out the Ether Drift EP and will be out into the world, the 22nd of February on the wonderful Crescent London imprint.

Moy Santana, one of the masterminds of Sungate record label and one-half of the dynamic Fase Bipolar duo, emerges not only as a talented producer and exceptional DJ but also as a curator shaping the vibrant Spanish underground techno scene. Moy's impact over recent years, whether through his collaborative efforts with Fran at Sungate, the evocative Observatory podcast series, his original productions, or his mind-altering DJ sets, has been extraordinary.

Today, we're thrilled to unveil one of Moy's "mind-benders," meticulously crafted for our series. While the term "journey" often feels clichéd when describing DJ mixes, Moy's mix effortlessly transcends this label. At its core, this mix embodies the essence of techno. Yet, Moy seamlessly introduces unexpected sonic elements, traversing through dub house, electro, tribal, acid, and back to the depths of techno. Today’s premiere lands squarely on the shoulders of Peter Kersten aka Lawrence. Our long-term love affair with his work hasn’t changed a bit through the years, as his music is always in the crates. Additionally to see his latest as a return to the legendary Smallville, only good things must await.

In its entirety, the Gravity Hill EP encompasses all that we’ve come to love about Lawrences’ work, the wobbly bass lines, ethereal floaty moments, all wrapped in a minimal, pristine percussion package. The groove, the essence, leads to wonderful moments both on and off the dance floor. Subtly is the name of this game.

Stargazer rounds out the EP which, as the label states, shifts back to a more straight, dance floor oriented feel via a twitchy acid bass, circling resonant synth licks, hypnotic textures and a swinging drum groove. Definitely one for those early morning vibes, as the sun rises on another day and the people party on.

Stargazer, and the rest of the Gravity Hill EP will be released on March 1st.

PREMIERE: Lawrence - Stargazer [Smallville Records]

From the inner forests of Jeju island come the latest musical explorations by Delayed favorite, Adhémar. The multi-talented French producer once again returns to Huinali for his latest album titled, The Birth of Mist. True to form, there is a heavy emphasis on nature and grounding, each track lures the listener into a zen like state, swaying to and fro with the rhythmic percussion.

Our premiere for today, Hidden Forest Lake invites listeners on a journey of introspection and discovery, where time seems to slow and the boundaries between self and nature blur. It is a testament to the enduring power of rhythm and melody to transport us to places unseen, where the mysteries of the natural world unfold before us in all their splendor.

Alpenglühen, a Madrid-based record label known for its meticulous curation by Alfonso Pomeda, better known as F-on, presents its eighth release, the Berglüster EP by Whispering Signals founder Daniel[i]. 

With a deft hand, Daniel[i] crafts an immersive journey in BF 04, the closing track of this remarkable release and our premiere today. Drawing listeners in with a subtle mix of deep, atmospheric techno, BF 04 envelops the listener in a warm yet eerie ambiance, carefully balancing elements to avoid overwhelming any single aspect. As the track unfolds, a distant ambient atmosphere gradually gives way to a gentle rhythm and haunting vocals, evoking a sense of serene mystery akin to a warm rain on a secluded island. 

BF 04 and the rest of Berglüster EP are true gems and refreshing additions to the ever-expanding deep techno catalog. 

Scheduled for a limited vinyl release on March 2nd via Alpenglühen, this EP is one of the records that should land in your crate.

Recorded live at last year's ExtraMostra event at Lolita, where Forest Drive West shared the stage with Ana Sola & Estrato Aurora (whose set we also had the pleasure of hosting) and Mostra's own Josh Hoppen, this set epitomizes the artist's mastery cultivated over the past decade.

What unfolds in this recording is a pulsating amalgamation of tribal, bass, halftime, and techno, a signature style meticulously crafted by Forest Drive West ever since his debut EP, System in 2016. The auditory journey commences with an immediate liftoff, as infectious grooves propel the listener into an interstellar expedition akin to a spacecraft hurtling towards unexplored realms. Approximately 30 minutes into the set, Forest Drive West adeptly recalibrates the energy, initiating an exploration of novel, uncharted territories with a meticulously woven techno narrative. The seamless transition of grooves adds an element of intrigue, rendering the entire listening experience undeniably interesting.

Forest Drive West is poised to grace the illustrious "Pati" stage of the Castel De Montjuïc on the evening of Friday, March 29th—an occasion sure to be nothing short of magnificent.

Down under we look today for our premiere on Melbourne based label, Aythekos. They’ve joined forces with Liam Costar, for a new long player titled, Pertinax (month 1). Rounding out the release are three remixes by LSS, Anthony Linell, and Claudio PRC.

To Live, To Perish gets the Claudio PRC treatment as the Italian artist applies his signature spiraling take. Heavy, driving percussion keeps the energy high while the bass line worms its way in between, keeping the listener entranced. Saw like synths grind over the top, providing a nice range of movement so as to not let anything get too stale. Not that it could ever, Claudio’s remixes and originals rarely seem to drag on, we could listen to them for hours, and have!

Claudio’s remix, and the rest of Liam Costar’s Pertinax release will be released out into the world, March 7th.

Lb Honne's 'Homage to Daylight' is woven with unsettling beauty, evoking the spirit of David Lynch's Blue Velvet. Warm, sustained analog pads wash over the listener, thick and melancholic like the Louisiana air itself. A lush, throbbing breakbeat pulses beneath, mirroring the hidden tension lurking beneath the veneer of Lynch's idyllic suburban setting. A poignant vocal sample adds a raw vulnerability, redolent of Sandy's fragile innocence amidst the encroaching darkness.

Halfway down the road, the bright and uplifting arpeggio slices through the melancholic haze like a burst of sunshine after a long and dreary day. It leaves the listener hopeful and optimistic, wondering if it's the dawn breaking and a promise of a brighter tomorrow.

Celebrations are in store, as we’re overjoyed to see the lovely Argentinian label Danza Nativa hit its fifth birthday in stride. From the start, the imprint helmed by Alderaan, Forest On Stasys, and Kyntral has been a proverbial force to be reckoned with, providing many a favorite tune over the years. We’ve been following them closely, and have enjoyed the progression of sound, a progression which is evident in their seminal 5 Years of Danza Nativa compilation. Featuring contributions from Anthony Linell, Amandra, echologist, Plants Army Revovler, Polygonia, Dino Sabatin, Luigi Tozzi, Claudio PRC, Daniel[i], Vanoni, Shoal, Vera Logdanidi, as well as all three founders, the compilation packs an incredible punch and speaks volumes to how well respected the label has become over the years.

Our premiere comes from fellow New York based artist, Brendon Moeller and his echologist moniker. The raucous Mobil comes charging out of the gate with an upbeat tempo and dubby pads, providing a dose of energy to pick listeners up. As the tune progresses, growling synths and a litany of percussion, and textures pop in and out of focus, providing a jazzy ensemble to keep things moving.

Danza Nativa’s 5 year celebration compilation will be released both digitally and for the first time ever from the label on vinyl, the 15th of April. Congratulations to Alderann, Forest On Stasys, and Kyntral, here’s to 5 more years of Danza Nativa!

Coming in as B1, Autóctono is a groove filled tribal tune rife with that infectious energy that keeps dance floors moving. Bongos, and soaring pads take presence in the foreground, while the upbeat percussion bounces playfully along keeping things high. Forest On Stasys’ innate talent to create these moments and energies within his tracks make them incredibly versatile to DJs and listeners alike.

PREMIERE: Forest On Stasys - Autóctono [Technologia Organica]

The Berlin-based and Rødhåd-owned label WSNWG - Back to Zero releases its first-ever compilation, and it’s a selection of dancefloor-approved techno, the techno of the good, intense, “we like to lose our minds” - kind. Kameliia from Oslo contributes with “Above Me and You,” the alluring voices of a siren that compellingly suck the dancer into a different reality. And a fevery one that is. While the track adheres to rather classic techno structures, featuring a dreamy break at its core, it’s the entrancing vocals, the rhythmic -and heavily galloping-  drive, and the siren ambience combined, that make a strong impact and let the heart rate go up. Riveting from the first listen, with a hint of mystery, this track is embedding itself in one’s mind and it’s equally hard to withdraw from its physical pull.
 “Above Me and You” is poised to become a staple during the deeper and more climactic moments of sweaty gatherings in dimly lit basements.

Today's premiere, "Freezing Point" by Warsaw producer bijū, exemplifies this perfectly. This track and his upcoming "phase transition" EP were, in a way, influenced by the music we showcase here at Delayed. 
"Freezing Point" lands in our dark, halftime, and experimental wheelhouse. bijū's playful arrangement takes you on a journey, incorporating eerie and even sinister synth lines over a hypnotic halftime groove.

PREMIERE: bijū - Freezing Point

bleu noir. First and foremost, a friendship composed of Edouard-Marc and Bastien. Two companions who, in their distinct singularities, come together to converge towards a common universe. Complementarity is created from the beginning of the project to the finishing touches of their musical collaborations. A sincere, imaginative, and heartfelt approach. Random but shared experiences, such as numerous musical events ranging from concerts to festivals, inspire them. All of this leads to beautiful creations like this EP named: Naviguer à vue.

“Naviguer à vue” is the story in a fictitious and picturesque imagination, of a collective adventure taking place on a boat. The construction and launching of it, welcoming "Hordes" of people, are represented by "Recherche hivernale". A long aquatic journey through "Brume épaisse", filled with “Emergences of details”, as beautiful as they are stressful. Presented to the people on the boat is an internal and collective struggle, "Psychomachia". A battle between vice and virtue, between the humble human and the one of a self-centered and selfish society. “Inno”, floating on the surface and swimming, between two worlds, unable to leave the fluid and yet aware that it exists. A track that could have been called “Innolude”. The sound translations of these different emotions and sensitivities, vectorized by “Diversions currents then landscapes”, make this EP a true journey.

Today's premiere is the second track from this great release, "Brume épaisse." This eerie, aquatic techno odyssey is defined by a powerful bassline that builds tension like The Marin, bringing thick coastal fog over a southern seaside city.

"Brume épaisse" boasts a delicate yet murky atmosphere, perfectly grasping the essence of a late-night after-hours track.

PREMIERE: Bleu Noir - Brume épaisse [Low Volume Randomization]

Sounds and scenes progress, mature, evolve, all synonyms for the same energy. The energy that surrounds the creation and impetus of a burgeoning idea or a bleeding edge of art.  

Change. 

The constant clashing of influences from everywhere and nowhere. Especially now more than ever, as everyone is battered with a barrage of ideas and trends that appear as quickly as they disappear. It’s hard to pick apart the impactful bits but to Vardae we look as a harbinger of quality changes. Today’s pick lands on his seemingly effortless foray into half-time as we land on Captivate from the forth-coming, “Dance with the spirits” EP. It’s a raucous affair, and contains all the bits you’d want from a track that will split tempo, and get dancers to sway like seaweed. From syncopated, off-kilter percussion, to long developing breakdowns, the detailed textures and minute changes get even the most jaded listener going. This EP, coupled with his Mostra set, wow. One to watch out for.

PREMIERE: Vardae - Captivate [Konstrukt]

Only a handful of producers can stay true to a genre while dodging mediocrity and clichés. One such producer is Jaime Romero, aka Estrato Aurora, a Valencia native who's been our favorite for years. His productions are warped, edgy, and perennially inventive, inspiring countless producers to follow his unique path – a true trendsetter.

Today, Estrato Aurora takes the wheel and revisits Hiver's track "Time Lapse" from On Board Music's Point C compilation (released three years ago). The Valencian maestro dismantles the original's heady, trippy, low-slung rumble, crafting a hypnotic halftime odyssey. A warm, melancholic analog synth melody cuts through the murky groove, persistently driving the entire track forward.

Balancing these contrasting elements within a single track is a challenge, and crafting something so recognizable that it works across various DJ sets and settings is even more impressive. But Jaime pulls it off effortlessly, keeping things fresh and engaging.

Estrato Aurora's remix joins Erika, Polygonia, Patrick Russell, and Forest On Stasys, on what promises to be a stellar release from the consistently impressive On Board Music. Point C - Remixes drops April 26th.

Imagine a smoke filled valley… the only visible mark of a civilization being a single path ahead. A source of hope and inspiration, beckoning only to wither into the darkness and depths. Slowly you march forward, each step echoing through space like a shamanic drum strike, the footfalls catching and building off each other as if seemingly competing for your attention. On and on the journey goes, but ah! In the distance, there appears a faint light, pulsating slowly. With each step, it’s luminescence and your energy grows, there may be salvation near…

If music could paint a picture, then I imagine it would be something similar to the above for JxF aka two Delayed favorites, Javier Marimon & F-on. Their contribution to the 8th installment of the French imprint, Accents Records VA series truly has a feeling of gravitas. One that we love, oh so much. In addition to Javier, and F-on, we’d be remiss in not mentioning the time and effort that Johan Bonnefoy aka Sub Accent has taken to assemble this incredible collection of artists. A majority of which we’ve had the pleasure to work with over the years. So many familiar names, so many wonderful people!

PREMIERE: JxF - 02 [Accents Records]

Rarely do musical collaborations like today’s premiere come around. More often than not it’s a pair of artists teaming up, perhaps a trio here or there. To have four, marks a special occasion. For their third ‘Sphere’ release of the series, Munich based imprint IO Records continues the practice of looking inwards. As a veritable mix and match of all the founders plus a few close friends equate to a jam packed 14 track volume that manages to showcase each artist's unique sound. While simultaneously showing off their collective talents to work together seamlessly.

Breaking Force brings together a plethora of elements as the dub influences leap out immediately. Setting the tone for the duration through to the breakdown and providing the main melodic touch. Additionally, rich textures and tweaked synths are expertly layered on top. This combination with the snippy hi-hats and snares provide a genre bending tune that blurs the line between bass, half-time, dub and everything in between.

Today is a special day as we continue celebrating the second release on our burgeoning Never Late label, from the likes of Swiss based producer, Mjulev. Clouds are the Better Birds is an emotive, textured ambient exploration through the mind and musical musings of Carlo Thommen aka Mjulev. Born through introspective sessions, and afternoons of staring at the sky and world as it passes by, the music ebbs and flows ever so smoothly. Much like a cloud on a windy day.

The afternoon sun can be brutal in the summer. With your motionless body parked at the beach, it pounds and flattens you with ferocity and determination of an Italian grandma making veal Milanese. Sipping piña coladas brings no respite: the sun is too strong and you are too overheated and dehydrated. You are in a daze; it hurts to open your eyes and it hurts to keep them closed. The email notification sound from your phone slices your daze like a knife. What now?! "A new release", it says. "Why not?" you struggle to think. "Modern House Quintet", it says. "Why not?" Preview "Sunset", it says. "Why not?!" A lowering of the needle, a sip of warm piña colada with its own desperately melting ice and … "Sweet Jesus, I feel a breeze!" you jump. The sun now seems to be pouring itself down the distant horizon, releasing your body from its crosshair. You feel weightless; your body is still sluggish from the heat and piña coladas, but your spirit now moves with all the grace of a ballet dancer. 
It dances a happy dance, for "Sunset" is happy music. The rhythm is happy; the pads are happy and soothing; the track moves like a breeze and even the acid groove, that trademark tool of all things melancholic and trippy, is deftly controlled to bubble pleasantly in the background as the track takes flight.

‘Do You Know’, the latest edit of Whitney Houston’s ultimate hit ‘How will I know’ does exactly that to any given dance floor. The mysterious artist who made this edit uses hypnotic breakbeat rhythm layered with fat stabs and arpeggiated cowbells. These elements create positive and a feel-good vibe, but if you add one of the best vocals in the history of pop music on the top, then you have an absolute dance floor weapon.
‘Do you know’ is coming out via PXU white series on September 20th in the limited vinyl-only release as an edit package. The release includes two edits of aforementioned Whitney Houston’s ‘How will I know’ and two edits of Mary J Blige’s ‘Family Affair’.

Orion are no strangers to Delayed and this mix continues their hot streak of amazing releases and mixes. Having just released their incredible “Look At Things” EP on Molly’s Recit de Voyage, they have just blessed us with a mix. Whether on their Orion imprint or Molly’s RDV, one has grown to expect nothing short of spectacular when it comes to Orion’s output, and this mix is no exception.
The Italian duo delivers an hour of their own productions, starting out slow, slowly building up and working through a trip of ambient house and dub techno, eventually closing with a Burial-esque tune.
We’re delighted to regularly feature the Bolognese producers, and we can’t wait to see what they have in store for us.
