I was driving shotgun with my friend Nate, dropping off his brother at the Airport in Boston. Nate mentioned to me a topic of "hiding our demons." Things we deal with on a day to day basis, that we hide from the world...or from a certain audience. Right off the bat, I knew I wanted to do something with the topic. So after collaborating with Nate, I set the idea aside, and began thinking how I wanted it to sound. About a month went by, and I had just began creating the beat and thinking of some lyrics. I knew I didn't want to be solo on the track, so I contacted Maki to see if he would like to hop on the tune with me. Knowing his skills from previous recordings, I immediately knew he would have a huge impact on the mix! I let Makiah do his thing with the beat and waited for a bit. While he started his part, I was figuring how I wanted my lyrics to flow, and needed to find a singer for the chorus in the song. I posted on Facebook to see who I could get! Luke Dimond instantly messaged me with enthusiasm, and hearing his recent songs he has dropped,  I definitely couldn't pass up an opportunity like that! In about a week, the whole song pulled together. Along the way I had been tweaking things to make everything sound great. Once I got Luke's part on the chorus, I tossed it on my DAW and maxed out my speakers  in my room for a solid 20 minutes playing it over and over.  Two days later, I got the text that Maki was set to record and got him in the same day. I was so impressed, he hopped in the booth and recorded his verse in two takes. Each of us had certain perspective on this idea, and it really is amazing how it delivers a real message that has been trapped inside of us, but let out through music. I delivered a lot of word play in my verse, because I want you to be thinking about the meaning to my words, instead of displaying it out to you...they are my hidden demons right?
