Closing out the Alchemist Lounge on Sunday at last year’s Subsonic was unforgettable. With WolfTweet’s warm, rich sound-system setting the perfect tone. Following Morgan's Hip Hop set I brought out my favourite Soul, Hip Hop and Downtempo classics selection, creating a soundtrack for a massive cuddle puddle in the lounge, and kept it funky for the people dancing in the front. Just when the energy was at its peak, Triple Nip from Byron Bay jumped in for a surprise live MC flowing over my instrumentals, and dancers appeared out of nowhere, turning the moment into something truly electric — it felt like the whole festival came together one last time to celebrate, connect, and end on a high — slow magic.
