This time we welcome Seahorse with a massive two track Vinyl release plus one bonus track for the Bandcamp orders. The Munich based producer spent the last 15 years updating the already flourishing sound system scene in his hometown. After his first love, reggae and dub, he got inspired by the new sound waves coming from the UK in the early 2000s. In the spirit of the Dubstep godfathers, he began producing bassheavy tunes under his alias „Seahorse“,and throwing parties in several collectives (Basswerkstatt, re:duction and Skeng). He promoted various parties over the years with acts like Mala, Loefah, Kahn and many more.  To this day, his love for bass and a colourful music scene is stronger than ever, hence his debute on Chrome! makes perfect sense. Make sure to check his last releases on the likeminded imprint „basscomesaveme“.

As always, it will be a 7” Vinyl release limited to 100 units – no repress or digital. This time, there will also be a bonus track for everyone who orders our record via Bandcamp.

The 4-track EP ‘East Street’, showcases his unique and instantly recognisable take on that gritty, yet refined UK sound.

Jah-Tek presents track 1 'Long Time', a dark-side 2-step garage number, featuring floating pad work, skipping percussive elements and rich expanding bass tones.

ZamZam 52 is a fully outernational collaboration between Bukkha (Spain/US), Madplate Sound (Italy) and Junior Dread (Brazil).  We love these kinds of link-ups, as the simple act of creating tunes across borders and continents for an international community of listeners and dancers is an act of resistance in a time of increasing nationalism and restrictions on peoples’ movement. 

"Nada A Perder” ("Nothing To Lose") leads off with hard skanks and a deceptively wistful melody.  Enter the honeyed-yet-gritty voice of rootsman Junior Dread over mashing steppers drums and a monstrous bassline designed with nothing but sound system pressure in mind.  Junior Dread’s powerful vocal, sung beautifully in his native Portuguese, delivers a message centered on unifying across difference: “When Bukkha came with the instrumental,” he says, "it made me think about overcoming our generation’s biggest obstacles if we unite.”  His inspiration in music comes from “life itself and Jah the Creator,” and as a believer in “Word Sound Power,” Junior Dread focuses exclusively on positive, empowering lyrics.  

The dub version travels deep through swirling vapor trails, carving out space by stripping back the vocal, echoing the skanks hard, opening up the reverbs, firing off the lasers, and valving-up the bassline for an even more militant side.  

Bukkha’s profile continues to rise with recent releases on labels including Dub Stuy, and Moonshine, with more dropping soon.  Sparring partner Madplate Sound has also released on Moonshine and Dub Stuy, and Junior Dread is well-known for tunes on the above labels, and the seminal “Rise” on Gorgon Sound’s Peng Sound debut.

I’ve been wanting to feature a track by ‘Creep N00m’ for some time now, his work rate and over all production ability is outstanding. ‘Spooky’ regularly plays fresh bits from him on a lot of radio set's he spins on.

Creep has such an eclectic sound to his music and is very experimental at time's but it always works perfectly. I'm really happy that he's on board with us.
