This past July, I lost the best friend I've ever had in this life, my little brother Ben. It's taken a great deal of time, reflecting and processing for me to get to a point where I have been able to even  think about creating music again, and even now I am in no way "whole." The wounds of Ben's passing will forever be with me, and forever something I'm evolving with, learning to live with the pain and channel it. 

There was a period of time when I thought I might be done making music (or any kind of art for that matter) forever. It felt like an enormous part of the reason I created in the first place had been ripped away, leaving me trying to figure out who I was afterword, and why I created. Most of the music I love and listen to these days is directly due to my brother's influence. Most of my favorite artists now are artists he introduced me to. 

At some point though, I came to the realization that he would want me to continue doing what I love. Ben was always someone who I created stuff for specifically in mind. When I would work on tracks, I would envision playing them for him and head-banging with him. So for the last few months I've been focused on honoring him in one of the best ways I could think of - with music. 
This mix is a collection of music that he loved, music that he introduced me to, and music that we made together in our time as Of The Fact. This is my birthday present to my brother. My tribute to my best friend. I know, Ben, wherever you are right now, you're with me. I am going to keep going for you.
