Major Look - Heart Attack feat. RuthAnne (Nation of Shopkeepers)

Hot on the heels of the festival-sized anthem Too Late, London electronic music act Major Look display another colourful feather in their increasing diverse musical cap, in the form of Heart Attack. 

The carnival styled club rocker, sees a departure from the drum & bass and dubstep sound that has been a feature of Major Look’s sound to date. This feel good anthem, somewhat sets the scene for the forthcoming album due out later this summer. 

Heart Attack, features the witty and on-point vocals of much loved frontman Stapleton, and is one of the final productions of Crystal Clear (who recently left the act). It also features RuthAnne. The US based, Irish singer-songwriter has worked with the likes of Pixie Lott, Tinchy Strider, Westlife and Avicii, and appeared on Professor Green’s ‘Remedy’ last year. 

An action packed summer for Major Look sees them debut their new-look stage show on the main stage of Creamfields and Global Gathering. 

On the remix action is a quartet of four of the hottest producers at present. Half-time maestro’s Pixel Fist, signed to Benga Beats, push the limits of bass and distortion in a version focussed on the old skool keys of the original. Cornish bass music prodigy Jello pushes the carnival vibe further combining some clever vocal play with bass bin busting sub-bass. 

Next up, Russia’s finest underground heads Teddy Killerz, go to the darkside with a mix that you’d be likely to hear played by their label boss, Skrillex, at Beelzebub’s birthday bash. Finishing off the quality loaded package, is the peerless Walking Def who turns out a sublime progressive trip into lush pads which bring out the best of RuthAnne’s brilliant vocal. 


‘Heart Attack’ will be available Digitally from August 11th through the Nation of Shopkeepers imprint.

Major Look feat Alex Phillips - Legacy [Creamfields 2013 Exclusive Release] [Free Download]

Major Look is Stapleton. South London, Drum and Bass MC, turned bass music front man. 

Very few MC’s have made the step up from club host to credible artist, but in 2012, Stapleton, assisted by respected producer Crystal Clear, hit the studio together and produced a series of tunes as an experiment. It was soon clear that Stapleton had the rare storytelling ability and a distinctive voice that set him apart from his peers. The debut track “Levels’ caught the attention of Radio 1’s Annie Mac and these early plays of classic dnb beats and humorous vocals (that many could relate to), saw the act courted by a number of the majors. A deal with London Records followed and Major Look took the UK club and festival scene by storm. Hush Ya Gums, Bass Generation, Never Hold Us Back and No Hope City became instant classics. Well written hooks and vocals, combined with brilliant videos attracting an ever-global fan base. 

Stapleton’s vocals and presence on studio recordings is magnified when put on a stage - and it wasn’t long before shows on the main stage of GlobalGathering and Creamfields followed. 

By the end of 2012 the initial studio pairing of Stapleton and Crystal Clear had run its natural course and the duo parted ways. The front man went solo and started to appear across the UK and Europe alongside DJ Prysm, whilst working with a variety of different producers. 2013 saw the release of the club-storming Too Late and Heart Attack, featuring the vocals of Ruth-Anne Cunningham, and further support from Radio 1 and 1Xtra followed. 

Having spent the final few months of the 2013 locked in the studio, Stapleton returns to clubs and festivals in 2014, with a new live PA show.
