This is a track that that has followed me some 2/3 times every week for the last 4+ years, thanks to ADB. Sorry it has taken me this long to come here and praise you for this work. I felt it was now time to say something about it. There are some real nostalgic vibes about it because of the chip-tune nature of the song. I can be quite partial to SID or even AY-3-8910/12. There's just something about it that triggers my serotonin responses. I have also always been fascinated about how people were able to create these songs using often just a text based tracker in old 8-bit machines. This is exactly what I wanted to ask: can you please tell us a bit more about it? How did NEON come about? What was the inspiration for it? What kit did you use to create it, record, produce, etc.? I am just curious to understand what goes into the creative mind of someone producing a real masterpiece like this. Thank you for sharing it with Adrian and with it, opening us up to your craft. Well done mate.

Ladies and gentlemen, may we present the official Generation 500 soundtrack! It's an Amiga module called "Generation" - and it´s made by none other than pROPER dISCO featuring dLx, Firefox & Danko!

It won the Amiga tracker music compo at Datastorm 2017 in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Amiga 500 was released 1987. :)

This is a song that can be played on a standard unexpanded Amiga 500. The soundchip of the Amiga is called Paula and has stayed pretty much the same since the first Amiga prototype, called "Lorraine", back in 1984.

This song was part of the demo we released at Datastorm 2017. 
Our concept designer though the end of the song had too much spirit of a knightly hero to the rescue to be part of the demo. So i had to rewrite it a little to fit the atmosphere.
This is my uncut version.

All the music was composed and produced with one sample, which I time-stretched, effectified, pitched, modified in any way possible to come to all the individual instruments. (except the synthy things).

Running With You

This tune won the „insane combined music competion“ at Nordlicht 2020 demoparty. Dedicated to Ultrasyd who passed away in october 2020. Rest in peace!
This song was originally composed for a C64 DTV demo*. As we did not manage to release it I decided to finalize the tune for the „Notlicht 2020 insane combined music competition“.
The 3 voices of the #C64 #8580 #sid were directly recorded into Logic Pro X from the real machine with a #8580r5 SID chip.
Then I added a #behringermodeld in the beginning for some filtered bass sound and a #waldorfstreichfett for chords and a string in the beginning. The drums are the original C64 drums mixed with some drums from #nativeinstrumentsbattery .
For the #acousticguitar outro I recorded my playing with the excellent #harleybenton CLG-650SM-CE BK. In this little video I mixed some clips from the #commodore64 and #logicprox .
*the #c64dtv cannot handle hard restart of notes and has no filter like the original C64. The only filtered sound you hear is in the beginning, it‘s the deep bass drone from the Behringer Model D.

A short experimentation after taking a few courses on writing for an orchestra. I just might be starting to understand a little how to write for different sections :)

EDIT: Re-uploaded a new version as the previous one had a track muted, and I fixed some problems with harmony. Silly me.
