James Harcourt has been making electronic music since the early 2000s but after a number of years in the musical wilderness, made a resurgence a few years back and has since gone from strength to strength, releasing consistently on labels such as Renaissance, Selador, Sum over histories and Siamese to name a few. 

James is refreshingly vocal about the dance music scene and in this episode, he talks candidly about his own experiences and the challenges he’s faced, whilst offering up some sage advice for anyone out there making electronic music.

Both "Almost There"and "Voices Inside My Head" portray this dynamic interaction of fundamental, conflicting and complementary forces, embodying the unity and versatility of the techno that Rafa Silva puts forward. "Almost There" represents light, harmony and the musicality able to be expresed through the sonic unification of incidental elements that generates in their oneness a unique state of emotion and trance. "Voices Inside My Head" inserts itself in the darker side of techno, with shaking, gloomy basses and a raw aura that perfectly contrasts with the harmonic backbone that keeps this track in constant revolution. Mixed by Hannes Bieger (Patrice Bäumel, Alex Niggemann , Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann, Adriatique, Ellen Allien, Tales of Us, Stephan Bodzin, Tiefschwarz) and mastered in Berlin by Calyx Mastering, Cai-Ten outlines as one of the essentials for this 2018.
