1st Non-Profit music label pushes free agenda!

Nucci Reyo (former “ghost writer” for P. Diddy) has launched the 1st Non Profit Music Label into the industry, called The White Flag Movement. The idea stemmed from Nucci Reyo's passion to combat the impact that being exposed to negative music and violent themes has had a negative effect on the community at large.  Reyo explains, “I stopped ghost writing because I no longer wanted to be a part of the negativity that Hip Hop has on the community.  I firmly believe in the power of music to both compel and repel, uplift and tear down; the sole focus is creating avenues for positive life changing music to enact change in the people's lives. “

When the idea of a Free Music Label was presented to music executives, many wondered how such a concept could work or come into fruition, but when there is passion, drive, and dedication there is always a way.  One of the innovative and intriguing aspects of this label is the founder's dedication to releasing positive music and putting it into the hands of the people who need it the most without worry of being able to afford the cost. In that spirit, all of the music, concerts, and merchandise from The White Flag Movement will remain free to the public.  Reyo states “We do not want a price point to stand in between the people and the message".  In an effort to keep with this philosophy, The White Flag Movement is supported solely through personal and corporate donations.  
 
In conjunction with Universal Records, The White Flag Movement has secured a distribution deal that will allow the music to be "purchased" in stores and online (ex: iTunes) at no cost to the consumer.  In an unprecedented move listeners and Fans will actually be able to take the cd to the register and see the price ring up as $0.00.  
 
The first song released is titled "Follow Me” the remake from Aly-US featuring the original singer Supa B.  It will be featured on mainstream radio, television via MTV, and throughout many blogs and sites.  
The original song has been played around the world and the remake is expected to break all boundaries, even crossing genres.  Nucci stated, “It’s not just the hip hop stations that want it, I’m getting calls from all different type of stations, Hip Hop, Party House music, R&B, and even Gospel.  This is for the world. You just can’t sit in your seat with this song.  You got to dance.”
