We all need a hand sometimes. 
Pooh and Piglet was the song on the album that resisted arrest the most. Me and Chas wrangled it over a few several sessions. 
Where did the song come from? We were climbing the hill to Highgate, my wife and I,  when a man walked up behind us. There was bright sun, but it was cold, and he was wearing only a thin jacket and (I think) a handkerchief on his head. I would have put him in his mid- to late-seventies. He’d been to the gym, he told us, and he was on his way back to his retirement flat. It was a marvelous life, living there with his wife, he said. At Christmas time, they could walk out alone, “...like pooh and Piglet. Only our footprints in the snow...” I thought I would like to be as happy as he seemed to be at that age. Over the coming weeks and months, his words tumbled about in me, with some darker items as well. I knew there was something there. Sometimes you just must wait for it to come. The song is for the man and his wife, for me and mine, for my parents, and for everyone alive. We all age. The world is a miracle and dark by turns. If there’s salvation, it’s that you are, or hope to be one day, on the journey with your Pooh, or your Piglet.
