For her sophomore single Temporary, WAYI strips down and opens up about her jealousy, coming to terms with the final chapter of a relationship. « Everyone must have had a broken heart once in a lifetime. After you "heal" from it, you realise that life is too short; that there is actually worse things happening in the world and that you shouldn’t be crying over that person. Still... at times, you find yourself struggling between letting go and being jealous that he has moved on with someone else », she confesses about the bittersweet and languid ballad, which sees her silky vocals wrapped in swaying rhythms.

Insecure is tapping into some smooth jazzy influences to deliver a soulful voluble track about a relationship stained by doubt and a lack of trust and loyalty. “Did you ever fall for someone who can’t help dating different people at the same time? I did but not for long! Trust me, it feels like shit, especially when you’re jealous. Not to mention it also feeds unnecessary insecurities, affecting your self-love along the way. I need someone who’s 100% into me, no more, no less”, reveals the 25-year-old known for her plainspoken yet poetic lyrics.

Some people find music but music found WAYI. Growing up at church, the songstress spent most of her childhood with the gospel as her faithful companion. Through the years, this planted seed has been watered with Songs In A Minor and other wordy rivers irrigated by Alicia Keys. The first melodious bud appeared at 11 when WAYI had to sing in the school choir. Not yet aware of her gift, it was then her classmates and family’s encouraging reactions that gave birth to the first flowers of a garden that would keep on giving.

After years of studying and covering her favorite acts, she eventually became inspired to take up her pen. What started as innocent stories and novels slowly flourished into a bouquet of lyrics about the purest and most complex feeling: Love. With a subtle delicateness and a refreshing honesty, WAYI explores every petal and thorn of this universal theme, narrating her own experiences perfumed with movie scenes and situations encountered by friends and a family that she cherishes and carries with her each step of her artistic blossoming. Hence her choice of having a part of her last name as her pseudonym…

Her effortless elegance and sensual voice have already enchanted the national radio MNM for which she performed several times and the Belgian rappers K1D and TheColorGrey, who respectively featured her on the tracks Delorean Dreams and Clear Blue Skies in 2017.
