This song deserves more than just a few words of description. But to encapsulate the meaning, Seranilla is a form of Spanish literature about commonplace subjects and so the lyrics of this song describe common situations and feelings I heard while working on an Immigration shelter during the huge influx of immigrants to the south border. There is a lot more to describe about this song, that mere words on a screen cannot do justice, so if you see me in person, please ask about this song!

Seranilla (The Immigrant's Song)

Burnside (The Homeless' Song) is the 2nd song that was written in Texas. The song was inspired by the month I spent living in my car in the dead of summer. You learn perspective really quick and gain some empathy for those who live on the fringes of society. Who don't have many friends. Who don't have people to love them and community to support as often as a person should have. This is the feeling and thoughts I felt as well as imagined the less fortunate might feel from time to time. I hope this encourages you to have more empathy and love towards the overlooked people.

Burnside (The Homeless' Song)

The song "M.I." is a play on words with the phrase "Am I." The idea of this song is about the accumulation of highs and lows getting to me from the road, and from simply myself. Life feels very inconsistent (especially right now) and it sort of puts you in a weird place where everything, including your foundation, becomes shaky and uncertain. Realizing that the experiences and situations around me, influence me too much at times and shape the way I feel. This song fleshes out that feeling.

M.I.

The song "Everybody Overthink" exposes the mindset that I tend to move towards, which is that of being overly aware of my surroundings and people, and overthinking what to say, what not to say, what to do, what not to do, etc. I felt this a lot in LA, and typically the result of this mindset is being a pretty "safe" person and sometimes feel not very fun and lame. Although I am very thankful for the tendency to be aware of others, sometimes it goes overboard and brings distress and creates tension within.  This song is just me trying to make light of it. I hope y'all enjoy!
