Since the news of Jay's death this August, I was not able to bring myself to write. On one hand, I would have so much to write about such a genius, but he meant so much to me personally too, so much that I could hardly start. In addition to all that has already been said about Jay, I would like to add my message, which is very personal to me.

I was the last manager Jay had; we did a lot together, from charities in South America to helping the victims of the tsunami in Japan alongside Seth Troxler. We released an album under the concept of Music 2.0, the interview he did that brought the Resident Advisor server down due to being such a polemic subject.

This album was titled Love=evolution. I did all the copywriting, tour bookings, and management with him. It was the first time I had ever managed an artist, let alone such a global tour. Not only did Jay initiate my career in music in this field of management, but during the time I managed him I had just graduated with a major in Psychology (Sociology & Third World Politics), and he also helped initiate me in mental health linked to artist work, which I still pursue today. During the years that Jay grew up, mental health was still a taboo, so I fear he did not receive enough support in that area. I would like to use this space to raise awareness of the importance of seeking and offering help to one another.

Jay had his demons, and in the past years it was quite hard for him, battling with the two sides of this genius personality: one the devil, and the other a true angel. An incredible genius of mind and artistry, one I want the memory of to live on, so I decided to release this recording.

This recording from fabric, 20 years ago, exactly in August, is one of my favourites, as valid then as it is valid now, this thing about timeless music.  When I started managing him in 2011, I got this recording to remind him of his own power; at that point he had already been through so much. Again, the battle for Jay was constant, so I used this as a reminder of the amazing beast he is. He nicknamed me Ice Dawg, following that.

My dear hizzle, rest in peace; your memory lives on.

I will do everything in my power to collect his unreleased music together with Lara, the beautiful daughter he left behind who lives in Peru with her mother, Estefania Vilallobos.

Love=Evolution, my darling, and we love(d) you.

Using the then, relatively new Ableton Live software to network their live jam, some of the biggest names in techno participated in this auspicious performance: Ricardo Villalobos, Richie Hawtin, Akufen, Robert Henke, Dimbiman, Dandy Jack, Cabanne, Luciano and Daniel Bell.

One year since Rakya’s Liquor Store, one year since our core members Charonne were secretly crafting their comeback in Rakya’s catalogue with the Moonstruck Zine EP.

This release has many faces, crossing styles and tempo: a starry-eyed collection of sounds. And most importantly, it’s designed for both the mind and the club. 

Glamorama (A1) is a synth-lead stomper, dancefloor killer, as steady and powerful as this genre can get. It has founded its fine balance between a rather dark first impression and the overtaking feel-good energy of the organs. A reference to Bret Easton Ellis’ schizophrenic society: Glamorama. Which makes a perfect transition towards the glistening bomb of the EP, an uplifting house-music anthem where Charonne encourages you to MakeUrOwnMusic (A2) 

B-side, on the other hand, is more intimate. Experimentations in tempos and structures, exploring a dystopian future. The Little People is where Charonne manoeuvre a more ravy side, but always with a sense of melancholy – moving us to the EP’s conclusion, B2, an acidic and mysterious high-speed UFO.

Zip is co-founder of the label Perlon, is familiar with the dancefloors around the world and famous for his tremendous minimal shifts within the 4/4 scheme. He has an illustrious musical history which began in 1986 as singer in the band Second Voice. In 1992 he moved to Frankfurt and joined the EBM band Bigod 20. After several releases the band split. In 1996 he got together with Markus Nikolai and Chris Rehberger to form the audio-visual project Pile. In 1997 he and Nikolai founded the Perlon label, on which he has released under the pseudonyms Dimbiman, Pantytec (with Sammy Dee) and Narcotic Syntax (with James Dean Brown). In 1999 the SuPERLONgevity compilation was released, featuring 'Bushes', a track that has since garnered chart-topping remixes from the likes of Derrick Carter and Fatboy Slim.

Zip also recorded with Peter "Baby" Ford and has appeared on Ford's label PAL SL. He is a regular guest DJ in clubs around the world and holds residencies at Robert Johnson (Offenbach) and the Panorama Bar (Berlin). He participates in the Narod Niki project, occasional collective laptop live jams initiated by Ricardo Villalobos and Richie Hawtin. He has released tracks and remixes on Perlon, Playhouse, Force Inc, Novamute and others.

Guillermo del Castillo (aka Itze) es un artista que viene impulsando su carrera profesional dentro de la escena electrónica nacional desde hace unos años. Su gusto por la música electrónica empieza a temprana edad y se consolida luego de asistir a su primer rave. A lo largo de su trayectoria experimentó con diversos géneros dentro de la música electrónica, lo cual ayudó ampliar su conocimiento musical y definir la versatilidad que lo caracteriza al momento de mezclar. 
 
Actualmente es residente de In:sight, conformado por Altarf, Bastian Borja, Denev y Dope Art. Junto con ellos organiza fiestas que buscan dar un espacio a los artistas consolidados, siendo nuestros pilares: la calidad del sonido, calidad musical y calidad de servicio, de esta manera brindar la mejor experiencia para público asistente y para los artistas invitados.

Ha participado en distintos compilados para sellos nacionales como Cavilar, PeruvianSound, Astral e In:sight. En el 2020 lanza su primer álbum a través de su cuenta de Bandcamp llamado “Not meant for Dancing”, cuenta con cinco temas originales y uno en colaboración con Gabriel y George Lewis.

Ha tenido el gusto de compartir cabina con artistas internacionales como Dorian Paic, Julian Pérez, Denis Kaznacheev, Nektar Agu, entre otros.
