I had been using Timo Maas’ Dooms Night remix as a comp track for another project, when my brain randomly smushed it together with my favorite Eminem track. Two great things taste great together right? I finished it in less than a week, just in time for the Space Cowboys Halloween Hoedown, and a record for me since most tracks take months and years to finish. Thanks to strick9 for playing it at the Brass Tax party too!

The artwork is based on the Timo Maas remix cover, with different pixelated layers to represent how the track was cut up. Eminem always has the same expression in his headshots, which is that of a runway model so… it seemed appropriate to include him in the art.

Boydex is back for his 3rd EP drop on Breakbeat Paradise and he’s brought some friend and an arsenal of funky beats. The Blessing EP features co-productions with the new BBP producer Baxsta as well as veteran beat master Pecoe. All 4 tracks featuring Boydex signature steady rocking beats and groovy guitar hooks and some chilled melodies with Sully Sax laying on the saxophone solos. 

Boydex kicks off the EP with a solid co-production with Melbourne-based producer Baxsta caslled Burning Up which takes a catchy vocal and dips it in some funky soulful breaks production. Moving on with some steady rocking beats and funky slab bass on the Blessings track, which features more catchy vocals and chilled vibes.

Taking it back to the raw funky business while teaming up with Pecoe on the third cut called Move Around before getting busy on the Funky Fresh jam, which also featured on the Christmas Bootleg Bells Vol. 3 that dropped last year.

After upgrading to Ableton 10 I needed a starting project to get my head around it.
I started this as just a bit of fun to get used to Ableton 10 and things started to move along quite nice so I pursued onwards with it, I love the music from The Mandalorian so much, they took many risks with this and it paid off big time.
The composer Ludwig Göransson did such an incredible job to make something so original and so refreshing but still fits perfect in the Star Wars universe, it’s a masterpiece.
The tempo of the original theme is more in time with Drum & Bass, it actually started as a Drum & Bass remix of the theme but my first love is Breaks so I slowed things down to the bpm I love the most, re-wrote some of the melodies I wanted to use and added some Bobalino flavour.
While I was writing I kept hearing Mjölk’s voice in my head, so got in touch and as always, she delivered some beautiful haunting vocals to complement the vocals I had already include from the series.
I hope you enjoy; it was a bit of fun to play around with the things I love the most, Star Wars & Breakbeats.
Massive thanks to Mjölk for these beautiful vocals (new original stuff coming in 2021 from us) and a huge thanks to Rick Tedesco for sorting out the master and being patient with me to get it right.
