IU's debut release represents the beginning of the relationship between Komka and Nina Mess, with the first two tracks they produced together, in the first semester of 2019.

Dance In The Dark could be a rock song if synthesizers were replaced by bass and guitar. Uniting Komka’s identity on the instrumental composition, that uses electro and techno tones in a dark atmosphere with strong 80s synthpop and EBM influences, Nina makes her first voice recordings on this track that gives the title to the EP.

Resonant Breakdown is more focused on the dancefloor, where Nina and Komka express their perceptions and feelings as DJs. The fusion of elements at the beginning doesn’t make clear what is coming, but, at the first drop, the bass takes front with a consistent groove that sustains all over the song. The words recorded by Nina refers to the interaction between humans and machines, while the arrangement of synthesizers gives an sci-fi atmosphere to this track full of nuances and an unique energy that will surely fire up any dance floor.

Detaching from hypes and evoking influences of the beginning of his career, Komka explores his authentic and multi-faceted creative force on the production of the sophomore release of I/U Music, the 2-tracked EP called ‘Axiomatic’.

Innusitated, surprising and filled with attitude, the title track ‘Axiomatic’ has an electroclash vibe, that gets even more strength when Komka adds his envolvent and magnetic voice, living up to the lyrics written by Nina Mess.

With an electrofunk imprint and driven by broken beats, “Gimme Funk” striking track perfectly suits this EP that works on the dance floor as well as daily playlists.

The 3rd EP of I/U Music says hello to 2020 and shows Komka’s versatility in two very distinct productions, but with the same ideal: to set fire on the dancefloor!

The release’s title track, “Bittersweet”, has an acid-house reference, with Roland’s legendary TB-303 as its main element, but with the electro influence that could not be missed on Komka’s tracks. Featuring lyrics and vocals by Nina Mess, people go crazy every time that this track is played.

“Slap Me” is inspired by the “slap” technique, popular with bassists. Although bass riffs are from a synthesizer, it sounds like electric bass “slap” riffs. A groovy track that makes this EP irresistible from start till the end.

(Re) works is the series of reinterpretations of old tracks produced by Komka in his almost 20 years of career. A way of giving a current look to the productions of the past, not letting good ideas fall by the wayside.

In the first EP of this series, we selected two tracks released by the late Crunchy Music. "Addictions" was re-recorded in a version that celebrates 10 years since its release. "Once That Night" was remixed "straight-to-the-point", and (re) titled "Once Again".

We hope that these recordings will be enjoyed with the same freshness and enthusiasm as when they were originally released. Today, with so much information being transmitted, music often becomes disposable and ends up falling by the wayside. We believe that good music has no validity and deserves to be revisited as often as necessary.

One of the not yet released tracks produced by Komka and Perrelli,
'Honestly' got a fresh new look and improvements. Originally
created by Come and Hell, their side project, this is definitely a
piece that couldn't stay on the drawer. From 2012 to 2018, Komka
and Perrelli dedicated themselves working together as Come and
Hell. Now following independent careers, those years were
fundamental for their artistic growth, by releasing by major labels
such as Kompakt and DOC Records and producing with names like
Gui Boratto and Xenia Beliayeva.

IU05 - Komka & Perrelli - Honestly - I/U Music

"So Blinding" stands out as the first single of the recent partnership between João Komka and Lucas Fadul, of the same age and influences in common, but belonging to different musical scenarios.

In the last five years, Fadul (who is a guitarist and composer) has been exploring new songs in sounds and electronic beats. In this context, nothing is more perfect than a DJ to help the enterprise.

Komka, on the other hand, is a strong name in the electronic scenario of the federal capital. For almost two decades, he has been composing, editing, mixing, playing and, even more, influencing and entertaining the city with a conceptually authentic sound.

Although they develop different styles, the two artists complement each other in the same passion - the music. Designed to dancefloors, "So Blinding" integrates the album "Untenable System", to be released by Komka, soon, on I/U Music.

The second and last single before the release of Komka’s album ‘Untenable System’ features the track ‘Machine’, dedicated to dancefloors and DJs who love good old-fashioned electro-techno. The track is a criticism about the system, the manipulation of the masses, the machinery of government and brings dark atmospheres, acid loop synthesizers and nuances that elevate any crowd at each drop.

Another lasting impression on the dancefloor and what promises to be a splendid LP.

I/U is born from the concept of interaction, in abbreviation of "I and you”. A brazilian brand that emerges at the turn for the 20s with the purpose of connecting people through art, music and dance. One of its pillars is I/U Music - a music label focused on spreading the music of our artists.
