The compilation is inspired by our weekly radio show of the same name, which is co-hosted by Jacob and Tom, as well as Johan Vilborg, Jayeson Andel, Vintage & Morelli, & Terry Da Libra. Reaching international listeners on Proton Radio, Digitally Imported, Pure.FM, Tenzi.FM, Dance Paradise, and other radio platforms, Silk Royal Showcase recently reached its 300th episode (http://www.silkroyalshowcase.com) and now often ranks amongst the Top 100 Music Podcasts in the USA on iTunes.

Carefully selected to represent the sound of Silk Royal Showcase radio, the songs included in the compilation range from the more pensive and melancholic shades of progressive to the more club-oriented, peak-hour material we tend to play at the end of our radio show mixes and live sets. Many of the artists are seasoned veterans of the SRS compilation series; there are also numerous first-time contributors to this year's compilation, many of whom have asserted themselves as leading talents in trance & progressive in just the past year. The fifth release on our freshly rebranded Silk Music imprint is a collaborative EP between two of our most accomplished artists: LTN and Vintage & Morelli. The former continues his relentless assault on dance music playlists worldwide, courtesy of his superlative monthly contributions to house, progressive, and trance. The latter is an equally versatile musician, who is also at the pinnacle of his craft, thanks to a variety of breathtaking trance and progressive releases since last autumn.

The lead track on the EP is "Us", which was initially previewed on LTN & Probity's "Arrival 02: Destination Indonesia" compilation. The track jets out of the gate with a furious bassline; soon thereafter, it introduces a cosmic lead theme, which is suspensefully teased via a variety of side piano melodies. In the main break, celestial pads unite with the gorgeous piano theme and anthemic chords.

The B-side, "Forbidden Fruits", finds the dynamic Indonesian and Serbian duo in familiar territory: a lush, chilled progressive house classic-in-the-making. A hypnotic vocal stutter punctuates a melodically blissful soundscape, which includes a variety of fluttering synths, a repeating 1/8 note chord progression, and, of course, an unforgettable piano theme. Kick back and enjoy the soulful and relaxing vibes of this one.

Every year on his "Only Silk" compilation, Shingo Nakamura contributes at least one original progressive track, which inevitably proves to be one of the release highlights. In 2015, it took the form of "Tribute, Chapter II", a follow-up collaboration with the exceedingly gifted Russian musician Stendahl. The Original Mix features a mellifluous soundscape, including a lush chord progression, gorgeous string effects, and, later, a timeless piano score. Our favorite moment is the breakdown, where the two artistic styles unite; specifically, Shingo's piano is joined by Stendahl's innovative and chilled breaks.

Terry Da Libra, who Shingo Nakamura himself recently described as one of his favorite musicians, graces us with the first of two inspired remixes. Global DJs and fans alike have marveled at Terry's marked growth in 2015, with hits like "Onirikon" helping to define his breakthrough year. His take once again showcases numerous midrange layers, soaring above a buoyant, flawlessly mixed rhythm section. Ethereal pads, subtle vocal effects, and an exhilarating new lead chord progression highlight Terry's exceptional interpretation.

Blugazer, an accomplished veteran who also experienced a watershed year, closes out the release with an uptempo, trance-influenced rendering. An awe-inspiring soundscape, featuring myriad melodic and atmospheric textures, is joined by a stormy bassline in the early going. Echoes of the song's original themes can be heard in the breathtaking breakdown, while more subtle, yet undeniably gorgeous melodic variations are contributed by the NYC-based phenom.

Esteemed melodic progressive maestro Lumidelic ennobles our imprint with an “Ancient Amulet.” The Catalan producer, out of Barcelona, has remixed for Soluna previously, but now debuts with a captivating melodic progressive EP release.

Although not within the vicinity of the Balearic Isles, Egypt lays its head upon the breast of the greater Mediterranean, where seafarers have ventured between worlds of old and modern.  Poignant basslines and evocative melodies are the language of Lumidelic’s perceptible nature. “Ancient Amulet” is an audible jewel in which soft pads drift over these luscious basslines and melodies. Egypt and its ancient relics are oft riddled with enigmatic secrets. This “Riddle” is still a question to the world: “How does Lumidelic unearth such melodic hieroglyphs and reconfigure them into magical sounds with such polished finesse?”
