Originally released in September of 2023, "PROGPOGANDA" showcased Auseeb & Rabiee Ahmad as rising artists of the progressive house genre. Now, COMET Records revisits the track with two outstanding new remixes by GORKIZ & BRICCIO and NISHAN LEE.Brazilian producers and managers at Transensations Records and For Senses Records, Gorkiz & Briccio presents a remix that retains a similar rhythmic poise to the original as a familiar bass pattern blends with a squeaking, bleeping effects layer, a new ambience and rolling groove creates an impressive reworking full of dynamism and brio. A rising star in the progressive firmament since early work in 2014, Nishan Lee has hit considerable heights with his music on Juicebox Music, Mango Alley and Perfecto Records, the Sri Lanka artist brings an innovative take on "Progpoganda", replete with rolling groove and deep bassline presence, a more stripped back offering allows the central motif from the original a chance to flourish within a new cadenced structure, boosting up the track's energy to the top, creating the perfect jam for special moments on the dancefloor. Opening with 'Cutting Grapes' we are introduced to the bass-driven vibes of Columbia's sun-lit uplands. Deep and hypnotic, the track develops familiarity through warm tones and clever ebbs and flows. 'Mooz Rider' continues the trend with deep rubbery bass and sparse percussion. Building intensity throughout the main break is drumtastic. Finally, 'Tinkerchime' rounds out the pack with the perfect deep house crossover. Powerful bass and musical keys become such a warm, comforting audio hug, you'll have this track on repeat for hours.

An artist with a growing Meanwhile history, Mike Rish returns to the label with a 3rd original EP, this time with the “Akhnaton / Gröv / Cloudbreaker” triple-tracker.

A story that began in late-2021, Mike Rish and his “Beyond” EP ignited a spark that would go on to burn brightly amongst a galaxy of stars on GMJ & Matter’s flagship imprint. Already a regular on such celebrated labels as Kasey Taylor’s Vapour Recordings, Praveen Achary’s Juicebox Music and Guy J’s Lost & Found, the Australian artist has continued to see his distinctive and mature production sound much sought after.

Now returning to Meanwhile for the first time since June 2023’s “GT / Shoreditch Funk / Reka”, “Akhnaton” is inspired by the Amsterdam club of the same name and host of Meanwhile’s debut label showcase at ADE 2023. Full of trademark character, the track is a pounding club floor-filler with white-noise back drop and chugging bassline intent. Full of mesmeric soundscapes, and cascading delays, the track builds in power as subtle melodies are introduced amongst the immaculately placed pauses that help ramp up the intensity. The result is a masterful affair.

Continuing the hefty rhythmic narrative, familiar tropes percolate around “Gröv” like a fine wine. Under a huge, throbbing backdrop of seismic beat and cavernous bass pattern, spine-tingling melodies float across the mid-range before coming to the fore at the extended breakdown. Adding to the sonic collage with a hypnotising off-beat chord motif, the track then drops back into the familiar form of earlier phases as it draws to its conclusion.

The final offering sees “Cloudbreaker” continue to push the sonic envelope with the immaculately crafted bassline extravaganza. Full of percussive intent with shaker-fuelled top-line, a richly syncopated melody captures dancefloor attention, held through a sustained bass phrase at the breakdown. Hitting its straps again in the third movement, the gargantuan groove and luscious melodic interplay break through in a stormfront of club vibrancy and brio.

A force to be reckoned with via another EP chock-full of skill, technique and craftsmanship, Mike Rish excels once more via his “Ahknaton / Gröv / Cloudbreaker” EP.

This is my remix of Pixie by James Harcourt. This was an entry to the official remix contest run by Sincopat. Although I didn't win, I was proud to be shortlisted. Sincopat and James Harcourt have kindly given me permission to share my entry on my public sound cloud account. I hope you enjoy it!

Following the hugely successful release of their 'Symbiosis' debut album, on which Dutch duo Callecat took us on a blissed-out journey, collaborating with some of the best producers in progressive house music, it's now time for the remixes.

We're happy to announce that every single song of the LP will be remixed, and- like with the collaborating artists on the album- the people they've invited to rework the songs are nothing short of spectacular!

Introducing part 1 where we see progressive house super star Hernan Cattaneo team up with Australia based power house Jamie Stevens, giving their magic touch to 'Beyond Perceptions', a joined effort between Callecat and Nick Varon. And what to think of rising star Digital Mess who reworks 'Unified Formulas', originally a collaboration with Meeting Molly.

Take into account that this is only the beginning of a whole series of remix EPs to be released in the upcoming months and you'll realize that the whole 'Symbiosis' project you are witnessing is progressive house music history in the making!

Words of Nio makes his debut on Sudbeat with an exciting brace of tracks. Patrice Baumel completes the package with a remix that shows his immense taste. 

Ibiza-based, multi-instrumentalist, Words of Nio is an audio chameleon influenced in his early years by Underworld, Depeche Mode and Aphex Twin. He played and toured with various bands since he was 16. After his last band broke up he took some time out to refocus, and by 2015 had moved to Ibiza to pursue a full-time music career again. Now signed to Renaissance, Get Physical and more, his sound is finding a wider audience and soundtracking parties across the globe. 

Opening with 'Beside The Fire', a deep shaker-led groove reveals soft piano and delicate vocals. Very much focused on vibe and atmosphere, the deepness is punctuated by clever FX and mindful sonics. On the remix, Patrice Bäumel focuses on the vocal elements creating something of a Thom Yorke vocal arrangement that squeezes out every last drop of emotion. One more stellar work added to his outstanding discography. Finally, the second original cut, 'Whispers', follows a more tribal path. Emotive and vocal, its perfect for those 4am-deep-in-your-own-space groovathons. Nuanced and incredibly detailed work from the new kid on the block!
