Gūsū is the collaborative project of Xueyan Chen and Nicolas Balmer, weaving experimental ambient textures through electronics and strings. The duo emerged during the curation of Zentralwäscherei’s 2022 festival, with both Yan and Nico being active members of the association.

This mix offers a glimpse into their forthcoming album, the ending was a typical part, set for release on April 4th via the Zurich-based label Subject to Restrictions Disc. Alongside selections from the album, they trace their deep engagement with electronic and analogue music—both individually and as a duo—while sharing tracks that have shaped their sonic landscape.

Morningshow with Soja Cats is about building gentle friendships & connecting through music, with new guests every month. For the last show, Sophia and Priszilla are just hosting and enjoying two beautiful and energising sets by Thy and Naiad.

THY is an artist based in Basel, CH and usually works with sound-installations and sculptures. Their sound production are complement to their artistic practice, all rooted in story-telling, strips of memory and moods swings, which today is a wild blend of fieldrecording, poetic texts and voices. THY’s DJ sets focus on the emotional friction between soft and rough tones, deconstructed and experimental sounds–all done subtly fading different genres into one-another and drawing the narrative throughout a soundlandscape.

While mostly playing tunes for friends and friends of friends, naiad strives to create musical journeys that go between genres, from ambient to breaks, with a big love for a deep bass, looking for bubbly, glitchy textures, acidic and dreamy elements to spark images in ones head. Critically reflecting on dance music being a consumption good, the act of listening, collective listening and questioning ones position is what interests naiad about sound. Whithin the fine arts bachelor naiad started to explore sound as a medium and creating eerie soundscapes, which sometimes find its way into a mix. 
In this one you can also hear a sample of the vancouver youth choir performing "Canzone rò curtiell" by 'La Mòssa', is a response to street harassment, set to the rhythm of the 'Tammurriata', a traditional dance from Naples.
