Top of the morning to you! We first heard of Atavist when he reached out to us about his rework of Voodoo People by the Prodigy. This downtempo bomb has been a huge success and he has since been producing fire tracks and edits. 

We are therefore delighted to invite him to put together a mixtape full of grooves, downtempo bangers and everything in between. His hometown Moscow is where you can find him physically, but his music can be listened across the globe. He is taking us on his unique musical journey, bringing his vibe and diversity to deliver a wicked mix for our sunset evenings!

Bei diesem Wintereinbruch kommt eine ganz starke Podcast-Brise aus dem hohen Norden um die Ecke gepfiffen. Heute haben wir Thomas Atzmann aus Hamburg zu Gast bei sound(ge)cloud.

Mir haben es ja seine Sets und Podcast ganz besonders angetan … da sie immer so unscheinbar erscheinen und es doch so verdammt in sich haben – Understatement in Reinform. Doch gerade auch als Produzent hat sich Thomas einen ganz schönen Namen gemacht unter anderem für Audiolith, Underyourskin und grade den Remix für Harald Kindseht & Magnus fand ich ziemlich chic. Man darf gespannt sein was im Laufe des Jahres von ihm noch so alles kommt … mehr wird nicht verraten. 

Für sound(ge)cloud ist er das ganze mal ganz spontan angegangen und hat uns ein schönes verspultes Afterhour Set gebastelt.

Esteemed artists Nico Stojan and Timujin make their debut on Rebellion this May with Oktoberfest, a powerful three track release that sees the duo collaborate for the very first time. 

Nico explains “this EP is made up of older tracks that Timur and myself made together two years ago whilst I was in London. We invited two musician friends and spent some days together in different studios.” The EP opens with the echoing charm of the title track, as a hypnotic vocal sample asserts itself in a foreign language. Next up, the guitar chords of Satsang gently pluck away as flutes whirr behind a tempered kick. Higher Altitude rounds the EP, as a guitar solo rolls along before giving way to a poignant array of shimmering maraca sounds. 

A native to Berlin, Nico Stojan has been a presence in the electronic music sphere for more than two decades. Having cut his teeth in the German capital with a residency at Bar 25, the talented DJ soon went on to form Ouie Records, alongside Acid Pauli. Previous releases can also be found on the likes of Crosstown Rebels and Physical Records. Timujin is one of Russia’s finest exports. A regular of Burning Man, he has also released on Flying Circus, Earthly Delights and Dope Musique, and is the founder of the international art and sound collective, White Ocean.
