A half century. Over the hill. Twilight years, gently lit years, time to reminisce and meditate. Shell Tape 50 comes from the lovely Lia T (@liatsesmelis) and is an hour of grace, beauty and appreciation for life. All are invited to this home listening golden jubilee.

Sticking to the scenic route, Tape 50 is a dedication to "This Orange Flower." It's a study of bright and brilliant flashes of beauty that can be found in your figurative garden. The mix's sonic palette reflects this - harmoniously reverberating between lo-fi plateaus of everyday ambience, soul searching esoteric folk and tea time head nodders that fit with calm and centred emotions like a hand in a comfy glove.

Take time to slow down, appreciate the minutia and (cliché incoming) smell the flowers. Maybe you've your own orange flower down a garden path; maybe you've already found it.

Motion Sickness | 07.03.21

A unique release with four tracks, each by a different 030303 member from the first hour. Böhm kicks off with Tranquility, a moody and atmospheric acid electro track; hard hitting snares, 303 bubbles and and a dark cloud of gloomy drone. Freek Fabricius’ track Druk op een Knop is part built up by samples taken from an obscure gaming device for small children. The result is a bizarre and spooky track, loosely held together by a messy Roland melody. Geel Acidvarken’s excellent contribution is one to listen to again and again and reminds a little of Plastikman’s Consumed project; lots of dreamy reverb effects on the warm bleeps with persistent snares and rattling rim shots added to the spaciness. Piepiep’s System 100 is a brilliant funky beast, hectic and crystal clear at once with lots happening yet a dedicated focus on the floor. A very strong 12” and a big tip!

Monday's resident Sushi & Vinyl party at Studio 151 is always a vibe. Packed wall to wall with some of New York City's most well renowned creatives. There's sushi being made in the back and DJ's rocking the Condesa mixer in the front. This however was a particularly rare night as there haven't been many guest DJ's featured at the party. Knowing that, The Josh Craig went deep in his record collection for the songs he felt represented the sound of nightlife in NYC. From the 1st track he played everyone knew they were in for a treat. You can hear the needle damn near flying off the record as the dance floor was electrically filed with dancers jumping up and down colliding with the booth letting themselves go to the music. A special night in a very special place. The Josh Craig took it to a new level bringing his signature funky TJCTAKEOVER sound to his favorite vinyl bar in Manhattan. 

"I just wanted to give the people a night to remember. While listening back to the recording I was like oh man this sounds rough! But the energy of the night and the feeling of being in a NYC disco at midnight was too much to care about distortion or needle skips. So I left it as is.
