Presenting my HYPERGLITCH series EP - Multiverse! 

I am beyond excited to share this with you, as it has been in the works for quite a while now! A huge thanks and a shoutout to Woulg for curating the HYPERGLITCH series and giving us this opportunity. I am honored to be a part of it! As well as a huge thanks to Detroit Underground for taking the series further!

"Melancholy isn't just a feeling in this album, it's a taste, it's a texture, a shroud that encompasses you while you listen. Abroxis has an incredible talent of pulverizing you with heavy, lumbering beats and basses and somehow pulling you out of your body and letting you float over top of it all with his synth lines. This album is really a synthesis of the brutal and the beautiful. It's a sort of emulsion of the two in a way that seems almost impossible. It reminds me of that type of silence; the type you only hear in the worst situations. When time slows down. When the driver loses control of the car on the highway. Swerving from left to right as he overcorrects. There isn't enough time to really think anything, you know he's going too fast. There's that moment where you feel frozen. It's the moment where you know what is about to happen, but it hasn't happened yet, and you're trapped just waiting for it. That's when time slows to a stop for a moment. That's when the silence really settles in. Abroxis has somehow crystallized that feeling into the sound of an entire album. 

I think a core aspect of everything that I tend to think of as "hyperglitch" has a taste of this melancholy, but with Abroxis, it's really on full display. There's something unique about the way that really elaborate, intricate and at the same time brutalizing sound design can describe the sort of helpless violence that can accompany a deep sadness. And the sadness, despondency and apathy can be depicted so accurately with exactly the types of textural, hyper-detailed synth manipulation that is on display in Multiverse."

ESKVY - Arcane City

We are immensely excited to welcome Romanowitch into the glitch.cool label family.

A longtime collaborator of ours, Romanowitch has been by our side for many projects, notably Woulg's HYPERGLITCH series which showcased emerging ideas sprouting from the early days of the genre and released on venerable experimental labels Mille Plateaux and Detroit Underground.

While our more recent releases have featured artists exploring the contemporary boundaries of hyperglitch, on "A critical season substitute" Romanowitch catapults us back to the roots of glitch music - and subsequently industrial music - with a relentless assault of searing crunched-out basslines and powerful ambiences held together by colossal overdriven hip-hop grooves.

The improvised structures beaten out of hardware being pushed to its limits is in sharp contrast to the meticulously-edited digital landscapes synonymous with modern hyperglitch, and we're incredibly excited to be releasing this monumental album which for us is a journey deep into the ever-important cornerstones of heavy experimental electronic music.

"52 Heartz, a title taken from the story of 52Hz/52 Hertz, tells the story of a whale that can only sing at a frequency of 52Hz (where whales should only be able to hear frequencies of 15-25Hz). Because of this frequency, other whales cannot detect its presence. As a result, it becomes a solitary whale and no other whales meet it. It continues to swim, who knows where it will go, and until the end of its life.

And in this song, it tells the story of a man who lost his girlfriend, whom he may have known when he was in high school. Since meeting her, his life has changed. Every time he looks into her eyes, he feels calm. But then something happens to the woman, cancer starts in her body, making her feel "this might be the last time we see each other," and the man can only surrender and hold back his tears as he watches his girlfriend die. At a time when his life is confused, plus his family is no longer there, he lives alone."
