WARUMCAST 001 - Atonism @atonismofficial

Born in Southern Spain, this DJ/Producer has been involved in the electronic music scene over the past 15 years, since he bought his first pair of vinyl desks at age 14. By age 17 he was already producing his first tunes. After a decade of self-taught sound design and a few years of harmony’s studies, his current productions show the great potential of this young electronic artist.

For the last 10 years he has primarily been involved in the Drum&Bass music under the name of Impak. The strength of his potential can be measured by his relevance in the D&B scene. In Spain, he became one of the most relevant Dj/Producers of this genre while most of his depurated productions were commonly heard at most of the D&B parties, regularly appearing in top positions of Beatport charts. His name headlined parties across the country, ending up being resident DJ of the legendary club Industrial Copera in Granada. Internationally, Impak is a renowned name who has released his productions in major labels like Cause4Concern, supported by the most relevant artists like Optiv,Btk or Prolix and toured all over Europe in several occasions.

All this experience is reflected in his new stellar techno productions under the new aka Atonism. The main concept behind Atonism is to get dancing and intellect together in the dancefloor, seeking to mix quality, harmony, melody and textures with a delicate setting. Groove, hypnotic, mental to name a few styles, are his reference of choice when he begins the composition of a new track.

His new path, already mature and characterized by a new way of understanding musicality and elegance.

Atonism has come to bring a new way to see dance music. Keep his name in mind, because Atonism is here to stay.

Number 090 of our mix series is provided by Swedish artist The Miller. His journey into the captivating world of music production commenced in 1992 when he first laid hands on an Amiga 500 computer and the revolutionary Protracker software. However, it was in 1996 that he truly found his calling, becoming captivated by the possibilities presented by Fasttracker II.

Following his relocation to Stockholm between 2002, The Miller experienced a zenith of creativity that left an indelible mark on the techno music landscape. During this period, his innovative sound graced vinyl releases on esteemed labels such as Pertence (BR), Sway (SE), Wetmusik (AU), and Primevil (UK). These ventures showcased his ability to seamlessly blend genres, solidifying his status as a versatile and influential artist.

After a hiatus from the techno scene, The Miller resurfaced in 2022 with a successful release on the distinguished Mexican label Anaøh, characterized by a Latin influenced sound, especially in the percussions, and funk rhythms combined with his already classic deep and hard basses.

Concrete Tbilisi Podcast 103 - The Unborn Child

Juan Dupouy, aka DUPØUY, is a DJ and producer born in Caracas, Venezuela. He began his musical journey in various punk, emo, and metalcore bands and has been living in Chile since 2014. 

In 2023, he discovered techno and quickly became an active performer in Santiago's underground music scene.

With just one year of experience in music production, DUPØUY has already made a significant impact on several labels, including Xelima (Argentina), CO-EV (Argentina), G9 (Colombia), Flör Records (Georgia), and Ancient Data (Chile). 

His sound is a unique fusion of deep, raw, hypnotic, and big room elements, with a particular emphasis on blending enveloping textures, dark atmospheres, and high-energy percussion. He is also the co-owner of his own label "TNGNT Records".

SL007 | DUPØUY

Eva Bohnen is a DJ and producer based in Rotterdam. Her love for underground techno stems from the rave scene of the 90s and the alternative punk culture where her roots lie. These influences are noticeable in her sound which can be characterized as raw and intense. Together with Denn Punk she curates MEUK Collective, an oldschool techno collective and record label. They just hosted their first event and earlier this year Eva released her new 2-tracker solo Bliep EP. Izan Cramer has been linked to electronic music and especially techno since childhood.
