A reproduction of the traveler's call from the game Journey (2012). Made both for the purpose of using it in my 2021 album Vatnaljóð but also as an exercise in trying to replicate a sound as faithfully as possible.

A call in the desert

The lyrics are originally a non-linear poem (in my own made-up short format of poetry) that I made for this thing called The 100-Day Project.I just had this beat, though — which is just the sounds of me removing the coffee grounds receptacle from my moka pot — and an idea brewing in my head. And also the psychedelic artwork that I eventually decided should be the cover for this track.

I really wanted to actually sing and show vulnerability that way since I am still quite shy and unsure about using my voice in music, but oh well. Conlang-pseudorapping it is.

This track's a part of an album I'm slowly working through, but I just wanted to release it ahead of time because I like it that much.

— the good silence: a concept in my conlang, the kind of connection you have with someone or something where just the presence thereof makes your bond stronger; 'cause what is silence but the lack of a means to connect, yet actually having the best means there is
