Well then, looks like I'm finally gonna be posting these, starting out with the very first remix I made for this project.

For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, I'm making remixes for a sonic 2 rom hack titled, "Sonic 2 CD Remix", Pretty much just imagine sonic 2 but with the time travel elements of Sonic CD, and yeah that's the hack (though with some really nice extras thrown in there as well). (Updates about the hack are usually posted on this channel https://www.youtube.com/user/pacguy64/) There was previously no custom music, only instrument swaps, because of this (and also because sonic cd's my favorite classic sonic game), I decided to fill in that gap with actual remixes designed to fit each zone.

Now, these are all subject to change in the future (in fact, don't be too surprised if you see v2s of a couple tracks I post), but I'm going to upload them based on how they sound now, and how they'll likely sound in the SHC2018 demo of S2CD Remix. I hope you all look forward to playing that when it comes out.

(It should be noted that the in-game version will likely sound different, as this was arranged using a YM2612 *emulation* plugin called GENNY, and as such is not genesis-compatible like this. However, ASH has converted the tracks to SMPS for me, which IS compatible with genesis games. I will post those separate from the GENNY versions.)

As mentioned in the "regular" version, to make these tracks work in S2CD Remix they had to be converted to a format called "SMPS". These conversions were done by A-S-H, huge credit to him for making these work in the hack.

okay so i'm just gonna say right now, out of all the types of sonic cd-styled remixes (past, bad future, good future), good futures are by far the hardest, especially with only genesis instruments at your disposal.

anyways, this track actually never got converted to smps, so sadly it's not in SHC2018. shame too, i think this is one of my best tracks

now obviously since there's no smps version, that means theres no in-game version to upload currently. so yeah, Enjoy

so here's that hill top bad future track that you might've heard if you downloaded the full s2cd remix album on my bandcamp. i decided to include this as an extra track since i had it done, so yknow why not put it in there. glad i never officially released this until now cause damn im not super fond of how it turned out, looking back. that's why, later today, there's going to be a new hill top bad future published that, imo, fits a LOT better and also sounds better. i just thought itd be nice to finally release this as-is cause if my experience on the internet taught me anything at least one person's gonna prefer this one to the newer one

so a few days ago sc realized they actually wanted to keep their userbase and went back on their announcement to limit free users to 15 tracks lol, this of course means that i would be fine to keep uploading here until i reach the 3 hour time limit (which... yeah it's fast approaching now, i only have 54 minutes left) so there isn't much reason to keep using audius, right?

...well, actually, yeah i'd argue that there is. audius is only just starting out, so it seems a lot more likely that they'll listen to community feedback than sc will, so imo it's not worth tossing it away again. that, and there isn't any sort of upload limit for free users (unlike sc with it's 180 minute limit as i just mentioned).

thus, i'd like to announce that my sc won't cease uploads as i mentioned in my previous upload. however, i wont stop uploading my stuff to audius - far from it, actually. see, since there isn't an upload limit on audius, i can upload a lot more stuff, and that's exactly what i plan to do.

basically, my sc will host my "main" uploads like remixes and rips i spend a ton of time on, meanwhile my audius will have both my main uploads (like sc) as well as lots of alternate content, like scrapped remix wips, alternate versions of remixes, a lot more rips - just lots more content in general. so i hope you consider following me over there, but if you just wanna stay here on sc that's fine too.

so here's my latest and last contribution for kfad. out of all 3, this one probably had the most time spent on it, overall taking a full month to finish from the start to the end. regardless, im really happy with what the final product ended up being, especially the act 2 portion. i spent a lot of time trying to make that part sound super desolate, opting to use no high-frequency percussive instruments other than a crash, only using the bass drum and i think it paid off tremendously
