It’s About Us’ is a track I made which is dedicated to the launch of my new event concept: USS. The lyrics that you hear in the track represent what I’m aiming for with the concept of the event. I’d really to make sure that the collective of people attending our events will be the main focus and centre of everything, not necessarily the artist who is performing at that moment. The decisions we will make for our event - from stage design to lighting and other details - are all made with the idea of making sure the experience is more important than one single individual. This is how the event took shape, and this is also the core inspiration I had for this track. In my mind I could play this at the very start of my sets, in particular at The Roundhouse on Feb 1st. It’s soulful, and it has a message with a meaning for me to kick off this new chapter in my career. I can’t wait to play it there.

As a label that’s been growing for just over five years now, there are certain artists who’ve shaped our journey long before we even knew we’d start one. DJ Caspa @tundecas41 is one of those djs. We’ve been listening to his sets for more than a decade, long before the idea of launching this podcast series was even a thought. And if there’s one thing that’s stayed consistent all these years, it’s the sheer quality of what he delivers. But Caspa’s story runs even deeper. He picked up mixing at around the young age of 16, and from that moment on, music became a life path. Growing up during the acid house and Balearic era, the spark was lit early. His first love was Jungle Music and like any true selector, his vinyl collection exploded fast. He chased fresh sounds relentlessly, from early radio sessions in the '90s on stations like Weekend Rush, Pressure FM, Rinse FM, Unknown FM, Deja Vu, and Magic FM, all the way through to building one of the most respected Sunday shows on Rinse FM itself. Caspa lived through multiple waves of dance music, growing to a seasoned club DJ. He’s played up and down the UK and regularly traveled abroad. The sound on this podcast is 100% unreleased music from his friends in the scene. In addition to his club and radio legacy, DJ Caspa also curates his own acclaimed podcast series Upfront & Personal, known for hosting high-calibre guests such as Chris Stussy, Mr G, Djoko, Josh Butler, Anotr, Sidney Charles, Larry da Kat and many more. After two acclaimed releases on Up The Stuss, ‘Sense Of Future’ in 2023 and ‘Synergy’ in 2024, Across Boundaries, the collaborative project of Chris Stussy and Locklead, return with their most expansive and fully realised statement to date. Set for release on 5th September 2025, ‘Sakura’ brings an eight-track, double vinyl package oﬀering a deep dive into the duo’s evolving partnership, showcasing a sound that is as intricate and emotive as it is dancefloor-focused.

The making of the EP reflects an organic approach, with the pair taking to the Dutch wilderness for a series of weekend-long studio retreats, temporarily transforming remote natural spaces into creative sanctuaries. These escapes, surrounded by forests and wildlife, allowed the pair to step away from traditional studio environments and reconnect with the pure essence of their music. This intentional isolation sparked fresh ideas and textures, infusing the project with an expansive and reflective atmosphere - one that captures the contrast of raw nature and the precise electronic craftsmanship to capture crowds.

Musically, the eight-tracker moves fluidly between moods and rhythms, reflecting the layered creative process behind it. The title track ‘Sakura’ opens with a hypnotic groove that blooms into a textured soundscape, while 'The Funktion' rides tight, infectious, and tunnelling energy. Deeper cuts like ‘A Love Letter…’ reveal a hazy, introspective side, contrasting with the elevating energy of ‘Da Resurrection’. The EP’s range demonstrates Across Boundaries’ growing confidence in exploring diverse facets of house music, blending melody, groove, and atmosphere into a seamless journey.

This release not only marks their largest project under the Across Boundaries moniker, but also signals the maturation of a longtime musical and personal bond between its members. Longtime friends, Chris and Locklead’s collaborative process has evolved into an intuitive dialogue, where ideas flow freely and the boundaries of their sound continue to expand. This latest project is the latest chapter in this ongoing exploration; a cohesive, complete body of work that reflects their shared vision and commitment to pushing house music forward.
