Justin Kane Forthuber, also known as musical beat creator, JL Kane grew up in Tampa, Florida in a music loving home.  His mother, an aspiring singer, cut a demo for Warner Brothers before his birth.  His parents' record collection was sizable and he woke up to the sounds of his father's stereo system every weekend.  Naturally, Kane absorbed the classic and psychedelic rock from home as well as the Breaks and Miami Bass that played on the radio.

By high school, Kane was playing guitar and creating beat sketches in his bedroom.  Influenced by mix tapes filled with the New York styles of Grand Master Flash, Kurtis Blow and the Beastie Boys, a lifelong obsession began to take hold.  

Justin currently lives in Denver, CO as a music educator, audio engineer and musician.  J's weapons of choice are the Akai MPC, a dusty drum kit and any synthesizer he can get his hands on.
