I've been singing since the age of 9 and professionally since the age of 22. I sang chorus/coro with Ilia Ivon Maisonet (This is a song I sang coro on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cuCRn7lJP1I). At a very young age - I would say 6 - 7 years old, I began playing piano by ear. I sang in the choir while in High School and in church at Kingdom Life International in Kissimmee,Florida with Nathan L Mitchell as Musical Director. Then with the help of Mambo Lebron (from the legendary salsa family - The Lebron Brothers) I started writing music and decided to change my (stage) name to Jón Michael. I've sang backup for around 2 years in a plena group called “Johnny Olivo Jr. y Su Herencia de Plena” & occasionally with a NYC based Salsa Band “Noel Otero y su Orq. 718”. Now i'm one of the backup singers for Ray Villegas Orquestra ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SIcFwklBEcQ & http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ip4NxWm8WdM ).
