Dave Angel - regarded by many as the Godfather of the UK’s Techno scene - returns to Bedrock with a stunning new single. “Harlequin” displays his supremely groovy and downright funky side, having evolved and matured stylistically over the years, since his early heart-stopping techno outings more than 3 decades ago now. This is Dave Angel’s first outing on Bedrock since 2011, when his remix of Marco Bailey’s “Rubber Band” (BEDMBDIGI01) was hailed as a pure master-class in techno genius.

The son of a jazz musician, Dave Angel’s first musical instrument (appropriately) was a drum at age of eight, so it’s no surprise that he developed an ear for a good groove. Since entering the consciousness of the techno community in 1990, he has pretty much remained there ever since. Although he’s London born and bred, he has been making records like he's from Detroit with a distinctive twist of funk and jazz for years. Dave Angel is one of the scene’s true characters, giving off an aura of positivity like no other, a kind of warmth that you cannot fail to feel through his exceptional, uplifting music.

The mighty Hot Creations welcome back firm label favourite Miguel Campbell with ‘Beams of Light ’ already supported on Radio 1 by Pete Tong, this sensational slice of modern disco featured on his highly successful debut album ‘Back In Flight School’ released on the label last year. A stellar selection of remixes come courtesy of Alexis Raphael and Crooked Man aka DJ Parrott

Arrival's latest release, "Beautiful Change", combines the instrumental talents of SNR & Rikkaz, a pair of rising progressive and trance artists, with the ethereal vocals of the legendary Jan Johnston. We are also thrilled to welcome back British label veterans Shahin & Bench, as well as the first ever Arrival contribution from Silk Royal's standout duo Dan & Sam. 

The Original Mix showcases one of SNR's signature sounds from the track's onset: a meaty, layered bass, which also dynamically seems to skip around the stereo spectrum. As the resonant bass punches through the mix, Jan Johnston's vocal suddenly appears and begins to effortlessly "flutter" through the soundscape, like a butterfly in mid-spring. The lines are delivered with disarming ease, clarity, and beauty, especially the titular hook: "This beautiful change, that's in me".

Shahin & Bench, who, like SNR, contributed a pair of tracks to the recent Silk Royal Showcase 03 compilation, return to Arrival with a characteristically driving and euphoric rendering. Both a vocal and dub mix are offered here, to cater to all DJ tastes. A high-octane groove, centering on a massively layered bass, keeps the energy high throughout the tune. The lead chord progression is richly melodic and has a bit of a funky flavor as well, making it especially fun for the dancefloor. Beware of the club-killing drop, one of the highlights of the release.

Finally, Dan & Sam, who have experienced great radio support and chart success with their anthemic tracks "Walls" and "Breaking The Illusion" on affiliate label Silk Royal, round out the release with a deeper, late-night take. The bassline is trance-influenced, but the overall vibe of the soundscape is dark, pensive, and -- dare we say - sultry, a fitting mood to match Johnston's provocative vocals. The main break, which includes a breakbeat "teaser" drop, is especially intriguing and emotive.
