555-5555 w/patten NTS 20/07/17

This is my 2-minute sketch for Native Instruments' "Komplete Sketches" series - it didn't make it to the final selection, so I thought I'd go ahead and upload it as a little freebie.  The description was as follows:

"For my sketch (aptly titled "Simply A Maschine"), I produced a short tune comprised solely of sounds from the Maschine 2 Factory Library.  I initially threw a handful of drum samples and one-shots into an ancient DAW I frequently use, choosing to work in an arbitrary 6/4 time signature.  I toyed around with a number of metallic sounds for the starting melody, and looped a few pitch-bent Bowgard pads, which provided a sort of a wonky, unsettling undertone.  I recorded numerous patterns in real-time, and then threw all the different sections into a multi-track of an even older DAW.  I began building upon those sections, adding layers upon layers of additional drum sounds from the Maschine library, as well as plenty of buzz sounds, vocals and stabs -- in some cases, glitching and chopping them to bits.  Finally, I applied some boomy impact sounds and analog FX, which gave the whole thing some serious weight.  The end result was a relatively cold, mechanical sounding piece, with elements of big beat and house.  And because I'm a huge dork, I went a step further and incorporated a few choice movie clips, all themed around none other than......machines, naturally."
