Story behind the Dust Storms on Mars

It was one of the large and violent dust storms which occur in the vast plains during the Martian spring. They cover large parts of the Martian surface. A brave research team wanted to conduct research at high altitude during one of these dust storms. They flew their space capsule high into the atmosphere. The roar and thunder of the dust storm could be clearly heard and felt. They were still able to make sensational picture and sound recordings. The strain on The Crew and on the space capsule was enormous. 
The research team was able to observe that the wind speeds in the upper atmosphere were much greater than those on the ground. They did not realize until they returned to their space station that they had recorded other, mysterious sounds as well. The origin of these noises could not be cleared up until today. It remains another mystery of the dust storms on Mars. This provides another reason to re-explore one of the major dust storms. But this decision has yet to be made.

I wanted that scarry mechanical feeling from a music box. Meant to be good but the feeling tells you something else.

Inspired by E.T, Stranger Things and the suburb I grew up in outside Stockholm like any small town.

Synthesizers used: Korg DW8000, Roland Juno 2

Funny, the Roland Juno 2 was my first synth I owned at the age of 14. I sold it some time later to buy the Roland D50. However I bought a Juno 2 again in 2019 that needed some repair, happily I could save its analogue soul.

All this combined with exclusive live recorded material. Overall I Awake´s compositions are known as "electroorganic" chill or dance music. On top of the studio production part I Awake frequently performs his material live at different national and international festivals, clubs and exclusive, thematic parties and other occasions.

The announcement (Part2)

This set of sounds from the surface of Mars were recorded by the microphone on the side of NASA’s Perseverance Rover on February 20, 2021. In the first set, sounds from the rover itself dominate. In the second set, the sound was filtered to make sounds from Mars more audible. You can hear a little wind in the second set. 
 
This is the first time a Mars rover has been equipped with a microphone. The images in this video were taken by Perseverance's Navigation Cameras, or Navcams, on the same day as the microphone sounds, Feb. 20, 2021.
