TOY - Join The Dots

'Join The Dots' is the title track taken from TOY's forthcoming second album. 

The single edit - backed with an instrumental of the track - will be released as a limited edition 7" (300 copies) on 21st October 2013. Each copy will feature a screen-printed sleeve by artist David Chatton Barker (www.davidchattonbarker.com).

'Join The Dots', the album, will be released through Heavenly Recordings on Monday 9th December 2013.

It follows TOY's self-titled debut album which was released in September 2012, also recorded with Dan Carey in his South London studio.

Sometimes less is so much more, and in the case of Sumie’s self-titled debut, the combination of her voice and an acoustic guitar casts the most hypnotic and disarmingly simple spell.
 
Born Sandra Sumie Nagano in Gothenburg, Sweden, she first began recording her songs in 2008, a few years after becoming a mother. Unlike her sister Yukimi, who fronts the electro-pop outfit Little Dragon, Sumie has pursued a solitary and acoustic path. “It was not a style or a sudden choice but more me playing my guitar and having two small children so I could not make much noise,” she explains. “But I also love minimal and delicate music, so that felt like a natural direction for me.”

Hubie Davison makes his artist debut on Leisure System with the I Won’t Be There EP, an expansive collection of lush, interplanetary house that is at once vaguely exotic and completely entrancing.

Hailing from Ireland and previously studying music composition in London, Davison synthesizes the emotive melodicism of artists like John Talabot and Caribou with the bare grooviness of Nicolas Jaar, incorporating phantasmagorical vocal samples into a refined instrumental palette. I Won’t Be There is an ethereal listening experience, with tracks developing from calm restraint to exhilarating peaks. I normally spend hours thinking about how to make music sound interesting and exciting enough for you guys to want to check out amongst the piles of shit which, let's be real, we all get sent each week , making wading through promos more like pulling teeth than picking up girls.
And as I started to do this, I came across this ep, described in our man emoh's words. And even tho I've heard and loved the ep for ages, this made me love it all again.

EMOH SPIEL ON FIRST ORIGINALS
After three years intense training with master Stretos (known to many as 'Flume'), my perfectionist demeanour is finally satisfied, giving me the green light to put out my first original productions.

"I want you to write a different genre every week to develop your palate & abilities" were my instructions.

Finding the time to meet this goal? Near impossible, but attempting to do so has been one the most beneficial steps taken in my musical career.
