My first conceptual beat tape is no ordinary beat tape.

‘The Ozark Pack’ is a creative beat-making project based on Netflix’s dark and thrilling (‘Ozark (tag)),’ produced by (Jason Bateman (tag)). Essentially, my wandering mind sparked the idea of sampling every featured song from Ozark’s Season 3 soundtrack as a piece of an original beat. “Maybe someone has done something like this before, maybe not, but it sure sounds cool,” I thought. So I began. Frustrated at times trying to find useful and extractable elements from a Mexican deathgrind metal band, for example, but determined nonetheless to find a way to incorporate a wide range of music genres curated by the Ozark producers, into my unique beat-making process. 

All in all, it was fun. More than fun, actually. Insightful, eye-opening, and educational. I feel this is the most I have learned about sampling, genres, film/tv production, music production, and the list goes on. Thanks to everyone who provided input and helped me to put the final touches on this project. It is by no means perfect, but a product I am extremely proud of and hope to build on in my future music-based endeavors.
