U2 - All I Want Is You

Trying to get the right tone.  Guitar sounds pretty close.  The background "shimmer" needs a bit of work ... tough to do in Amplitube.

The shimmer effect is parallel rack mount:  pitch shifter -- multi-tap delay --graphic EQ -- heavy reverb
The background pulse is just a D-chord ringing out through a step slicer, then pulled into Audacity to make a loop out of it.  You can create a loop right in Amplitube, but can't record over it.

I added a fuzz to the lead guitar to try and better match the record.

Beatles - Rain

The best i could do after about 30 takes.  I can't seem to play the mini-solo part completely clean from start to finish.
Both guitar parts use my same basic clean Metallica setting in Amplitube.  The lead is just boosted about 4-5 db higher:

Metallica - One Intro

My first real solo. I learned it on Super Bowl Sunday waiting for the game to start and have been practicing it on and off since then. This is the first solo in the song, not the epic outro solo ... I'm still learning that one.

Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb Solo

I keep playing with this one in Amplitube/Reaper to try and get it to sound better.  Also to learn how to use Reaper...
I put back some overdrive that was previously removed.  This time using the Diode Overdrive instead of the SD-1.

Same recording as previous post, but adjusted the following in Reaper:
- Eliminated the overdrive at the start of the song (I originally thought I had kept it off and then turned it on at the end ... it was actually on the whole time)
- Lowered the mix of the delay a little bit
- I accidentally had 2 reverbs going in parallel (oops) ... I eliminated one
