From the point of view of the Vedic scriptures, the soul is an indestructible atom of consciousness, a carrier of a special quality: the ability to be aware of being. Matter itself has no consciousness and is not capable of being an observer. The soul is tiny, like an atom, and it can be felt by a perfect mind. The atomic soul soars in the air currents spreading its radiance. Having been cleansed from the polluting influence of the five streams of material air, the soul manifests its spiritual power. In each of the innumerable forms of life, the soul is in prana, the material vital air.

С точки зрения ведических писаний, душа — неуничтожимый атом сознания, носитель особого качества: способности сознавать бытие. Сама по себе материя не имеет сознания и не способна быть наблюдателем. Душа крошечна, как атом, и ее можно ощутить совершенным разумом. Атомарная душа парит в воздушных потоках распространяя свое сияние. Очистившись от оскверняющего влияния пяти потоков материального воздуха, душа проявляет свою духовную силу. В каждой из бесчисленных форм жизни душа находится в пране, материальном жизненном воздухе.
