In the early 80's, during Hip-Hop's infancy, a sub-genre emerged. Producers like Afrikka Bambatta, The Soul Sonic Force, Nuwcleus and Whodini incorporated fast tempo, intricate TR-808 patterns, combined synths and guitars to provide the backing tracks to dance floor raps that were drowning in reverbs. Songs like PLANET ROCK and JAM ON IT became instant classics. While Roger Troutman was at work mastering the vocoder talkbox for funk, the early Hip-Hop pioneers also used it to accent the new sound they were creating introducing the vocoder into the Hip-Hop consciousness forever. This song was created in the spirit of those great visionaries and the 3rd element to Hip-Hop that it inspired. Breakdance. ----Mykel Hawk
