After experimenting with different media and outlets Belgian Moroccan producer Jabo returns with new music and takes us back on a trip to the late 90s.

The diversity in sounds proves his strength in the title track ‘Bub El Ghum’, juggling between faux Trance stabs, footwork rhythms and dreamy Middle Eastern melodies

On the second track you can find ‘Synergy’ a track that takes us further into the vibrant bouncing and bubbly melodic universe of Jabo in which he teams up with Swedish singer/rapper Gnucci.

For the closing ‘Wadeshdah’ Jabo explores his love big trance stab synths dripped through modern bass music.

It’s fun, cartoonish and nostalgia packed together in a unique three-part EP.

On his official debut EP Harissa the young artist continues with the integration of traces of his cultural heritage and we even see him take on some new tempos with devastating effect. The anthemic title track sits just as well between a couple of edgy zouk bass tracks as it will fit into an electro swing set and the relentless Pastilla is a peak-time juke banger unlike any you've heard before.

Last month's juke and zouk bass inspired Harissa EP by Jabo is followed up by this collection of remixes that sit around the 130 mark. First up there is Melbourne boss Lewis CanCut channeling the golden age of UK funky on his version of Harissa. Then Swiss-Rwandan producer Bauchamp reworks Pastilla into a percussive roller that should appeal to club and ballroom heads, afro beats afficionados and the funky massive alike. The label's own DJ Mellow is closing the proceedings with another take on the same track, opting for booming bass music infused with heavily syncopated caribbean swing.

Jabo is a born and bred Belgian, but his music provides a hint as to his origins.
 His productions imprinted elements of bass music with sample-heavy, loopy North African and Middle Eastern music, which placed him at the forefront of a generation of innovative and fresh producers in Belgium.  The “Moroccan Bass” sound, as Jabo calls it, defined his well acclaimed debut EP, « Harissa » which appeared on Lowup records in 2015. Its successor, « Sonic Mizwid », displayed a more terse and introspective strand to his sonic identity.
Subsequently a steady stream of releases followed on labels such as Lowup Records, Byrd Out, Crown Collective and Generation Bass to name a few. 

Fueled by the need to explore other horizons he took some time off from music to experiment with other media and outlets. 
In 2020 he returns to the music scene and takes us back on an eclectic trip to the late 90s with his forthcoming Bub El Ghum EP. Cutting and pasting influences from Eurodance, Rave and North African rythms, Jabo uses them all as a springboard for a fun and unique club-oriented sound.

Repéré par le label Bruxellois Lowup, sur lequel il a pu sortir ses deux premiers EP intitulés Harissa et Sonic Mizwid, il est aujourd’hui reconnu comme un des producteurs les plus innovants de Belgique.
Son style unique unique lui attire les louanges des plus grands artistes du genre comme Acid Arab, A-trak ou Dj Snake.
