Following my generative and experimental 3rd album as Jabun – Generation Supernova, on the anniversary of its release, I announce Jabun’s ambient and experimental live 4th album – Tides.

Tides is a 70+ minute collection of 9 ambient and experimental live performances, together telling the tale of a fateful voyage at sea. The album begins by setting sail from The Beach at night and riding the rhythmic Waves, before being encountered by beckoning Sirens and lured into a terrible storm. Following The Storm, floating among the wreckage, you have nightmares of Ghosts, the other souls taken from the living world by the waters, but you survive only to wake up to despair, realising you are Lost At Sea. With no hope or strength left, you feel the Gravity of the situation, both figuratively and literally, as you’re pulled below the surface to meet the same fate. But with the sorrow comes a sense of acceptance, as below the waves you find a world much calmer than the one you endured among them. You sink peacefully to your final resting place, the deepest depths of the vast ocean: Mariana.

Each track from Tides was performed live and recorded as a single take during 2021 with only the lightest of further processing to bring the album together in mastering. Included in the album is a bonus track, Inner Space, which while initially recorded live was slowed down post recording and further processed in a similar way to the semi-live 15-4-20 album. It provides an ambient epilogue to the album, a modular synth soundscape representing the deep and vast Inner Space that is the ocean.

Remaster of "I Won't Eat My Broccoli!!!" The old version was a loudness wars casualty, and this one, while retaining crappyness, is a whole lot more dynamic!

From the original upload: "Kinda a joke, but mainly to test out some more production methods and equipment. The bass has my homemade fuzz pedal on it, the vocals are running through the valve preamp on my sampler, there's a shaker in there that i was dying to use, and i used a new sample kit for the drums! 4 birds with one stone! This was recorded and mixed in an afternoon. I wrote it just before I went to bed the previous day. Enjoy!"

The time has finally come, and after almost 7 years of inactivity on the project, I'm super pleased to be able to share with you the complete soundtrack I composed for the Apotheosis video game by Meneer Guus!

Unfortunately, not every project I work on makes it to full completion, but this game project was immense fun to be a part of and I'm super pleased with the soundtrack work I did for it. This OST was originally composed from September 2014 to March 2018, and contains 11 tracks from the project including a few which didn't make it into the final public release game demos. With it being a legacy project so to speak, I decided to give this official soundtrack release only the lightest of remastering from the original demos of 7+ years ago. I hope you enjoy this long overdue collection of cinematic tracks to accompany the bullet hell, roguelite that is Apotheosis!

Although it never got a finished release, Apotheosis had some very fully fledged game demos available for free public download! Read more about the project and check out the latest demo below. It's a tonne of fun!
