The reason the Psychic Octopus was taken out of the ocean is not because he could predict the football results, but because he was infamous for selling a concoction to marine biologists and ocean travellers that would take you out of this world - I tried it once, and this is what happened.

I chose this sample because I liked the soulful and colourful nature of the music, and the triplet feel gave me a lot of inspiration for where to take my re-work. 

My version is inspired by jazz fusion artists such as Snarky Puppy, and I took it in an abstract but fun and wild direction, implementing original synthesis and my own keyboard playing. In the mixing stages of creating this composition, I used techniques such as parallel bus compression and saturation on the drums, automation filtering, and tape emulation software.
