There has been no bigger new breakbeat act over the past few years than BSD, the enigmatic duo who burst onto the scene three years ago with their startling remix of Rennie Pilgrem's Rich Rule Us, and never looked back. A Breakspoll award, an album and a slew of No 1 singles later, few people had a clue as to who the guys under the masks
actually were, though there were always plenty of rumours flying around.

Well, iBreaks can now exclusively reveal that BSD was the musical brainchild of Spanish producer Colombo. Why the past tense, you may be asking with trepidation upon your lips? Well ... the answer is that BSD are no more. Now it's time for Colombo to embark on a new solo chapter and he's no longer involved with his former group. If you see any new BSD tunes emerging from here on in, be assured it won't be the old BSD we knew and loved that you're listening to. 
While that's all sad news for the breaks scene as a whole, it's good news for iBreaks Records, because Colombo has signed a deal to release his forthcoming solo material on the label. If you had any doubt who was pulling the BSD strings, check out Summit, a beguiling, heady slice of epic orchestral breakbeat custom designed for the summer festival season. Think peak era Hybrid with a deeper, 2011 vibe, soundtrack-style strings and piano lines backed with chunky beats and snatches of ethnic vocal. This is on a level way beyond anything you've heard before from Colombo, and in these days of disposable music it's the kind of tune that's going to be in your record box for years.

On the flip, CousCous takes us into even more introspective territory. This is a deep, tribal progressive roller with a strong eastern flavour - another highly ambitious track from an artist at the peak of his powers.

The BSD era may be over, but there's only going to be one producer at the top of the breakbeat tree in the coming months. Watch this space for more fresh new solo material on iBreaks from Colombo. It's going to be a hugely exciting summer.

Intricate Records set the release date for Fon.Leman’s latest production, «One Day». The single will feature the original version and two remixes by Cosmonaut and Aji Mon Nair.

Currently the most prolific resident of Intricate Records, Yekaterinburg-based producer Alexey Fon.Leman continues to deliver more and more news from his studio. Alexey’s discography already lists two successful releases on the Russian label with overall five tracks: «Muse Collector», «Converted Universe», «Mental Cell», «Heirloom» and «Anaconda». Besides that, the label’s debut «Intricate Sessions Compilation Vol. 01 Mixed by PROFF and Vadim Soloviev», which will be released also in June 2013, includes two extra works by Fon.Leman, namely «Subortus» and «Coral Aura», as far as it was confirmed from the partially announced tracklist. Finally, Intricate Records sound fans will have the pleasure to enjoy Alexey’s newest one, «One Day». This time Fon.Leman tends to various changes and delivers a musical piece which could be described as soft and mellow one, with less BPM and without any superfluities. As usual, «One Day» contains vocal samples – an inherent, traditional element of Fon.Leman’s original productions. The remixes have been made by prominent names: Ed Cosmonaut is a true veteran of Russian electronic dance music scene with over twenty years of studio and club experience, and a producer from the exotic Dubai, Aji Mon Nair. Cosmonaut lowered the track tempo even more and added some special brisk monotonicity, while Aji Mon Nair, in contrary, turned «One Day» into a melodic story with an exposition, introduction, main part and a final accord.
