Edinburgh indie-folk artist Hailey Beavis has announced her debut album, 'i'll put you where the trombone slides', will be released on November 4th via OK Pal Records. The album, which has been seven years in the making, is a celebration of resilience, determination and evidence of an artist who has overcome many obstacles to reach where they are today. The first single, ‘Crow’, is a wonderfully warped track about the journey to self acceptance.

After two years of scrubbing dishes and sweeping floors, London’s premier DIY Baroque-Pop troupe, Tugboat Captain, return with blink-and-you-miss-it two-minute single, Flash of Light. A venture into more psychedelic realms than debut studio album Rut (2020), Flash of Light features extra-terrestrial bleeps and bloops, glistening harmonies and the first ever four-part bassoon drop in the indie-rock genre. Whilst lyrically focusing in on a moment of existential dread as one awakens, the track is a return to the total DIY attitude of earlier Tugboat Captain records with the band writing, mixing, and producing all 125 second of music. Having spent the past two years quietly burrowed away in studios across South London you can hear a new level of studio experimentation recalling the wilfully weird of early Flaming Lips, the sonic exploration of Grizzly Bear and the intimate clatter of Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

Flash of Light

After releasing their critically acclaimed debut album CHIVVY have now become a duo and finished a new EP. The second single 'Reign', invites you to a preview of their upcoming EP's new sound. 'Reign' is the song about fantasy and reality and about taking control of your life or letting yourself fall. The music, which was recorded with and co-produced by Daniel 'Fagge' Fagerström (Viagra Boys, Jenny Wilson, Nina Kinert etc), is still as grand and dreamy as before.

CHIVVY creates a large and evocative soundscape with atmospheric guitars, synths and dreamy vocals. The music is often compared to bands such as Warpaint, Beach House, and Cocteau Twins. Last year they released their debut album which was praised by both Swedish and international press and received, among other things, 5 stars by GAFFA and was classified as one of Sweden's best albums of 2021 by HYMN. In 2022, CHIVVY was nominated for the GAFFA prize and the Manifest Awards.

23 is the first single of the new Lucky Iris era. The track is about the stress of getting older but somehow feeling younger than ever. A feeling which at times seems silly and all-consuming but it’s there all the same... Written and produced by the pair, mixed by Richard Wilkinson (Adele, Kaiser Chiefs) and mastered by Antony Ryan (Oh Wonder); ‘23’ is the mesh of the duo’s love for hyper-pop hooks and the quintessential age of British indie music. Supported by Help Musicians and released through Launchpad+.
