Modern Controls is the first solo LP from Dubringer. This 12-track offering covers a lot of ground while staying in the deeper realm, from the crackling, Burial-esque collaboration with Beolost, “Voidrift,” to the R&B-tinged “Song For Her.” You’ll find his main influences pulled from classic Neurofunk and Dungeon Dubstep, remolded into modern deep Garage. The use of complex, modulated growls and mids paired with stunning atmospheres, textures, and vocals will keep the listener intrigued, while the skippy Garage and two-step-style beats will keep their feet moving.
