There is a rise in Entropy over the next 27 minutes. Excited about things to come. So excited things start getting a little quirky.

This delicate combination of sounds represents strength through vulnerability. It calmly gives a feeling of renewal, much as the New Moon does. Tides is dedicated to my supportive partner Rey, who is the main inspiration for New Moon especially.

Phobos and Deimos, the Moons of Mars, are irregular in shape. They are named after two twins in Greek mythology. Phobos - Panic and fear, and Deimos -terror and dread.

Recorded in Isolation during the Covid-19 Pandemic, the name is apt to the times.  Although the feelings described are negative in definition, I wanted to use these emotions and create something to move your feet and souls. I recorded it in one shot, with no planning or editing, and simply let flow what needed to flow. You will find a leap in vibe and genre around the 30 minute mark, representing the unpredictability felt by many of us as we socially isolate on lockdown across the globe.

I hope it brings you as much comfort as it brought me.

JACKIE SPADE - VERTIGO LIVE STREAM

Jackie's style, however fluid, has always stayed true to their dark, heavy, hypnotic, minimal roots. Having grown up in Montreal, their affinity for visceral slow burn journeys came from numerous late nights on the Stereo and Circus dance floors, and they first hit the decks in the mid 2000s.


Today, Jackie calls Toronto home. With their passion for community building, they became co-founder The Technoir Collective in 2022 alongside Miss Kleio and Kika. The trio strives to create safer dance spaces for QTBIPOC folks and to honor dance music's black, queer origins.


A resident at Vertigo after-hours since it's beginning, you can also find Jackie around the city at Coda, Comfort Zone, Cherry Beach, Electric Island, and more hidden lofts, warehouses and intimate venues.
