Computers haven't done techno any favours, really.
Sure, they've allowed DJs to mix in 3D, and let producers run their snares through a reverb that sounds exactly like the dome of St Paul's Cathedral.
But techno music really doesn't need any of that… all it really needs (as Peace Division once kind of said) is a kick, a groove and a good bit of soul.
It's easy to forget that, but don't worry, Jack In Out are back on Retrometro to remind you with an EP that bring the rawness.
There is no fucking around here, we're just bashing down a can of warm Red Stripe and getting down to business.
The way it should be - solid machine rhythms all the way.
All three tracks are focused, stripped down jams that sound like they've come straight out the back of the PA - all bass thunder and shit-faced hi-hats. And to ram home the point, MTD delivers an on-message one-note pounder of a remix. And it's raw power all the way.
