‘Techno three ways’ is the order of the day from Irish newcomer Richie Corrigan and his accomplice Jacob B, twisting the genre in a trio of directions like a Michelin starred menu might reinterpret a humble ingredient. As a DJ, Corrigan has supported Dave Clarke, running his Purgatory events alongside the label of the same name and releasing elsewhere on Concrete Berlin, Underground Records and Complexed Records.

‘Paradise’ thumps along at a clip, classic stabs manically cutting against off-beat bass whomps and tuned percussion melodies, hi-hats stuttering all the while. Snatches of East Asian melody waft in and out of focus and the melodic progression of the bassline adds a gently euphoric edge to this propulsive track.

‘Get Up’ heads into tribal techno territory, all juddering low end and menacingly toned percussive hits. Pulsing FX and evolving rhythmic structures keep the intrigue levels high as this juggernaut of a track presses on, full steam ahead.

‘Lagoon’ rounds off this well-balanced EP with a more housey take on techno, where filtered disco loops circulate under percolating percussive rhythms. Snatches of bright strings and powerful vocal refrains punctuate while the funk-fuelled bass slams hard. A piano twinkles somewhere in the distance as the layers of the track ebb and flow into each other in mesmerising fashion.

Käse Kool's fourth vinyl release comes from no other than the Breslau-based producer, Jacob B. A relatively new face to the scene, Jacob B has emerged rather quickly and is building quite the foundation around his name.The Breslau Cuts Ep delivers nothing short of powerhouse techno that brings a raw energy of its own to any dance floor. This heavy piece of wax should not be take lightly by any means--blessing you 4 tracks that will undeniably go off when played. A1, entitled The Weapon, is a pushy tune driven by sheer 909 rawness and that legendary DX7 bass we have come to love on many of Jacob's tracks. A2, appropriately titled "From the Underground (JMF's Fatty Rub), remixed by the English producer, JMF. Keeping up with the energy of this release, A2 brings a tech-like jack vibe to the table. B1, entitled From The Underground, is the original mix from which JMF reworked on side A. This track brings a tougher, darker vibe to the mix with a strong bass and steady pumping 909 riffs. B2, Warehouse Stomp, doesn't fall shy of its name. This tune is as ruff n' tuff as they come, from start to finish this track will keep the energy high and leave its listeners hungry for more.

<p>Jacob makes his Phobiq debut and kicks off his EP with the haunting title track which twists and turns with hypnotic spoken sword snippets and grinding hats. Things continue in the same vein in his collaboration with DJOKO, as we are introduced to manic claps, percussion galore and Old School stabs. &#8220;MDxx High&#8221; offers a more subliminal approach at first, courtesy of the rubber-band bassline, but then flips everything around and breaks into an ultra-retro synth lead. &#8220;Tribe&#8221; closes up with a firm nod to the roots of this sound, and before we know it we are witnessing an actual siren burst out of nowhere.</p>
