JACKSON'S TWIST

Created and produced during his musical retreat on the banks of the São Francisco River (Alagoas, Brazil) in June 2023, CHAPTER 19 is JACKSONs first album. The creative process resulted in 8 tracks and 3 interludes (unreleased studio jam snippets) that translate the artists most visceral and spontaneous side.

According to JACKSON, the work aims to present references, inspirations, and creative experiences stemming from his journeys in various fields of intellectual capital; such as memories and dreams that lead back to the beginnings of his musical adventure as a child, inspired by his musician parents. Even though its JACKSONs first album, we find ourselves in chapter nineteen and not in chapter one.

The elements and production processes also take a journey through the artists life: the Six-Track synthesizer, which was part of his fathers (R.H. JACKSON) last album in the late 80s, takes the spotlight again throughout the album. In the track Açaí Trip, we go straight to the guitar riffs of Wild Flower by The Cult - memories of his first live show. Formula 1 is a tribute to Sunday mornings preceding drum and guitar jams with his father. Betão Takes LSD is an ode to rock with its 11 layers of guitar recorded to translate JACKSONs childhood with his mother at Rádio Rock, where she worked. Monster & Mirrors carries the choir of voices reminiscent of the layers and textures of ALT-J, one of his favorite bands. And so on...

Flashbacks, snippets, and visions that intertwine in constant déjà vus. Moreover, JACKSON believes in simplicity to create his grooves and stories: more Syntakt drums and less acrobatics in Logic.

The album is co-produced by Gabriel Brasil (who also signs the track Mirrors & Monsters) and features the duo Lo-Kaus in Betão Takes LSD. Creative direction was done by Giulia Falzoni and overall coordination by Murilo Arashiro.

The entire creative process of conceiving the album was documented in a short film directed by Teodoro Pimenta, premiered on June 17th 2024 at MIS - Museum of Image and Sound.

Every detail, creation, and production has a story to be told in the way Kim Jackson likes to live his life: lyrically, creatively, and expansively. CHAPTER 19 is an electronic music album, for electronic music, by electronic music; without seeking to fit into specific genre proposals, quite the contrary: JACKSON proposes narratives and musical structures that defy convention.

JACKSON is a Brazilian DJ, music producer, and creator of the Hydro-House movement – a new House music subgenre characterized by bold grooves and uplifting vibes, designed to ignite highly dopamine-fueled collective experiences on the dance floor.

With a solid career in the entertainment industry, JACKSON combines musicality with a forward-thinking vision, translating cultural and behavioral trends into unique sonic experiences – both in his productions and performances.

Tomorrowland, Burning Man (Playa Alchemist), Hï Ibiza, and the Zurich Street Parade are among his standout shows. His sensitive versatility also frequently places him in line-ups alongside renowned artists such as Carl Cox, Rufüs du Sol, Eric Prydz, Black Coffee and Vintage Culture.

In 2024, JACKSON released his debut album, Chapter 19, featuring 11 tracks and a music-documentary. With a more visceral and abstract approach, the project was presented at the Museum of Image and Sound in São Paulo and praised by critics.

Currently, JACKSON’s production focus is fully directed toward Hydro-House.
