The music recorded here is taken from a twelfth century manuscript that originated in the basilica of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem ( Manuscrit du Saint Sepulcre de Jerusalem XIIe Siècle Chantilly, Musée condé ms. XVIII b 12. ), based on the liturgical practices of the Knights Templar, a non-monastic order founded to protect Jerusalem and the Christians who made pilgrimage there. 

The recording was made in the 900-year-old Abbey of Fontevraud.

This is a favorite of mine, and I consider this performance perfect, I would add nothing to it in terms of edit, but only slowed it down 28%, for prolonged enjoyment.
I also tweaked the echoes a bit, and left the live input hiss on it as recorded with, because it adds authenticity and atmosphere of an old classic recording, that is eternal.
